Legal Affidavit Processing - California!

Let me take a wild guess . . . they had heavy foreign accents. The California number is bogus. It's just a termination point that forwards calls via the internet to a call center in India. The whole thing is just a scam. Somehow they got a hold of junk debt from some payday lenders and are using the information in real loan files to extort money from victims.

My head was telling me this is crazy and a scam but I was scared that I missed something and that they had my bank account info. I went today and closed my account. Is there somewhere to report atleast this phone number and fax number that they gave me?

I tried to complain to the CA AG but they said they could not help me with a dispute with a collection agent :(

I would still file a complaint with them and provide the phone number. There should be someone to complain to that routes these calls in order to get them to stop. They scared me to death as well. When they called me and left messages on my answering machine I called them back and made up a story of my own for "investigating them". Never heard from tem again.

They really do a good job at making you doubt yourself. They tried to call me again today but I did not answer it. I don't know if I should continue to ignore them or tell them that I have contacted BBB, Consumer Rights Agency, and Federal Trade Commission and see what happens. It is very frustrating when there is not a place to report or confirm they are fraudalent. I am still paranoid that I am going to get contacted at work.

they scared me very bad on thursday! before I found this site they co-erced me into giving them some sort of visa number, and said I needed to call them on friday to pay 250 dollars, they called on friday but I never returned their call. the funny thing is the visa Card I gave them was a unloadable AT&T rebate card!! they havent called me back but if and when they do I will not be intimidated!! thanks to this saite

How has everyones outcome been? I too have been contacted..very threatening messages left on my home and work voice mail, they even say i will be arrested and taken from my home in the middle of the night..what country do we live in again???? Anyway I have not returned their calls, just wondered how everyone else was making out with these leeches? Thank you.

they keep calling once or twice a week. each time it is a different person and different number. yesterday I got mad instead of playing with them, and told them if they were going to do something do it! im not giving them any money, and I know they are a scam, and that they need to stop calling me! today I couldnt answer when they called but it was someone who had called before with a number that he had called from before. I wish I knew how to get these scumbags to stop calling me. it has been a month since they started calling me! if any one has had any luck with getting them to stop calling than please let me know!!

I had them calling me for about 2 or 3 weeks, I didn't return or take calls & they have finally stopped calling.

I need some advice... 2 weeks ago some idian accient person called my husband and said that he is being takin to court and might be arrest for felony theft for doing a online payday loan,witch he never did,. They call his job 20 times and day and his cell phone 20 times a day. His boss told them he quit last week to see if they would stop calling and they havent stopped. They woulnt give him a name of the company they worked for until today they said they were with a legal affidavit unit. and they wont tell him what paydayloan company it was. Im kinda scared!! Luckily my husband hasent givin them any personal info but im scared they will get it some way or another with how persistant they are being...What should i do or say the next time they call? Cancel bank accounts, get different cell numbers?..Thank you for any info will help

This is a huge scam. The names of the company change, but trust me, I think that the players are still the same. My gut feeling from what I've read on the boards is that these crooks are located somewhere in India, and hope to make enough calls to scare innocent people into paying. You have rights. The next time they call, tell them you are going to file a complaint with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and then go on line and do it! They are the people who deal with international scams like this one.

when i reported this to the police in my area, they said that it was a scam, these people call all the john smiths all over the country and hopefully one or two people will just be too scared or they just don't know what rights they have and they get so threatened that they just give their money up. i had a call that they threatened that i had 48 hours or the sheriff would arrest me and i just laughed. 4 days later they called me back and i said i waited all weekend to get arrested and it seemed to annoy them that i thought this whole thing was a joke. in between the 4 days, i filed with FTC for disclosing information on the phone to someone else about me and threats of force and arrests and get this...that debt was paid off with the original creditor to begin with. Whoever this company is, was trying to pull a fast one but i wouldn't let him get away with it. once i told about the FTC, he stuttered for about 10 seconds, literally could not speak and hung up.

So, don't get intimidated from any debt collector. If you owe money and you pay them a dollar a week, they can't really say that you're not paying. except maybe to complain that you're paying them too slowly. lol :)

i just got the call also and i admit i got scared. he is waiting for me to pay today and he had all of my info. SSN, birthday, drivers licence. What can I do to stop them from calling my job and my cell? Can I do anything?

if you didn't use the internet.you wouldn't have found us.do not talk to this loser again.instead file FTC,AG complaints,and police reports for the harrassment.because that's what it is.he is in INDIA,and can do nothing.

I am receiving similar calls to my work and home.I live in Maryland. This people all give American names ,The latest one was Jason Anderson, but speak with heavy accents, sounds like India. They claim they are a National Affidavit processing service and they give a case number, claiming that they need my ssn and address to serve me for a company seeking to sue me, then they want me to sit still for some crap they are reading from a script. First off, I just cleared all debt via bankruptcy, including judgements processed and pending, Second if your planning on suing me you have all my information, since I would've given it to get the loan, car whatever, in the first place. I called the FTC and filed a complaint. They responded somewhat as if it where valid. I too was told someone would be coming to arrest me. Too bad, they must not know I work in collections and have for over 20 years. They must not know I am fully aware of Title 8 laws and the FDCPA. I really can't wait for the police to come to my door. Hell I'll be in court with a mad fat lawsuit and will be the one with money coming to them$$$. I check my bank account daily, and my credit report ever 6-9 and 12mths. Good luck scammers :)

Funny I thought this was a scam but I wanted to check to be sure, the real funny thing is they have my first name but not my last and when I tell them that they insist that this person is me. Thanks to this sight I can get them off my cell and racking up my minutes.

Nothing to be afraid of. Soon you will become immune to all this harassment and find the calls comical. Finding this site and getting/learning all the info has been a Godsend and has restored my piece of mind. All you have to do is remember its all illegal and they cannot do anything to you. im just wondering one thing though since they have contacted me today as well. do i need to take any precautionary measures since they had my name, last 4 of social, bank name or is this just generalized information that someone can obtain?

i got a call today from the same company please do not pay any money this is a scam and should be reported to the proper authorities. i have never had a payday loan and yet they contacted saying they were suing me for it. This is a scam please do not pay it

I got a call about three weeks ago from this guy saying his name was officer mike from us legal affidavit unit in california. Then again today this guy called me saying his name was officer steve he called me 8 times in a 5 min period. Then i called the # back and this guy answered and asked how he could help me so i told him i recieved a call from this number and im tryin to figure out what they wanted. So he started saying that someone had takin out a online payday loan and used me as a reference at cashnetusa.com saying that owed 429.00 right now and i said i didnt have the money and that i did not authorize such a loan. He called me a liar 3 times on the phone i told him that i was going to get my attorney and i was going to fight for this. He said that if i were to get and attorney i would then owe 2400.84. I then started yelling at him and said that i do not have that kind of money and its stupid that i owe you more if i get an attorney to take care of this matter that i did not authorize. So i then hung up on this man and looked into the cashnetusa.com loan website and i talked to the lady and she said that i have to provide my information or my bank account number and she gave me direction to file for a fraud complaint. Which i am going to do. And after doing research on this company that keeps calling me and the phone number i am not finding anything on this company so there fore i am calling this whole thing a scam. This guy even threatend to get me fired at my job. Lol! My boss started laughin and said your a good girl and you do a good job why would we fire you. Lol!

I received 2 calls and they had all my info. This made me pause, but then I did a google search and found they were scams. Never pay anything! In this country you will receive a summons to appear on legitamate causes. If you have not been summoned, then it is a scam.

I told them to send me documentation of the loan, which they refused to do. Anyone wanting to settle a dept will do all in their power to do so. So I continued to ask their mailing address (tell them you will send a money order via US Mail). However, I was unable to get their mailing address. Take control of the conversation and question them. They give enough information that you will be certain they are scammers. Once I told them I would not cooperate unless they answer my questions, I was now on the offense and they were placed on the defense. After I was sure, which I was at the beginning but wanted to know who they were, I told them I would welcome the police, FBI, and CIA, so send them. They were stunned and hung up. I am sure I will hear from them again, but I am going to send their 35-712-3849 to the proper sources. Contol them and get as much information as possible to send a full report. Ok, I have been getting calls from these people in regards to a "payday loan" so I decided to have fun with them myself. As others have stated, once confronted they started to "try" and cuss me out. They are not to good at it. I called back because after I told him he smelled like Curry he hung up on me. I asked for a physical address ant which point I was given 130...something. I asked him to spell it and he spelled something very fast. I asked him to repeat it slower and he said "NO" if I couldn't understand him, I shouldn't call there anymore and hung up on me. I called right back and was cussed out from the get go. He even brought my mom into it! LOL. I called back from my other phone and asked for the address again. This time it was 127 669th st. I asked what state and he said Texas. I said, " I Thought you were in Florida". He said "Yes, Texas, Florida". I Laughed. I then proceeded to close my hand cuffs in the phone and asked if he could tell me what that sound was. He said no, so I told him they were hand cuffs and I had kept him on the phone long enough to trace and triangulate the origin of the call and I needed him and his colleagues to stay there because they were being investigated for fraud and we needed to come arrest them and we would be there shortly. He hung up!

After harrasing them I can no longer get through. They have blocked ALL known numbers I have. LOL. I was having fun too!

So I just got a call from this company, I couldn't answer but the guy with the heavy accent left a threatening voice mail stating he was from APS and has a serious legal matter against my SSN. He called my office as well. I answered the phone but didn't admit to being me! I plan on calling them back and letting them know I'm reporting them to the FTC. I'm in Las Vegas.

yes these people have continued to call and make threats i know who they are and what they are doing so with my job i have alot of time on my hands to do what ever i want so if they call me once i call them 25 times i have had them cusing me hanging up on me and talking in there native language what ever that is i have unlimited calling and hope they enjoy being called as much as i enjoy calling them
