Hello,

My girlfriend recently experienced some difficult financial circumstances and was forced to turn to payday loans from CashNet USA and ThinkCash. These people are vultures. I want to take care of these debts for her, but I want to make sure I go about it the right way so that they are truly closed and that somehow I am not drawn into it.

First of all, is there any room to negotiate the amount to be paid if I can pay the balance in full? Apparently in at least one case, they tried to deduct money from her account before the agreed upon date which resulted in all sorts of bank fees, loan fees, etc. I don't want to pay this crap if it can be helped.

Second, what method should I use to pay them? Honestly, I'm afraid to give them my credit card number. Any ideas?

The following are the details of the loans (By the way, we are both Texas residents):

CashnetUSA is a member of the CFSA and if your girlfriend hasn't defaulted with them already, she should be able to set up payment plans with them.

A lot of the companies will accept MoneyGram payments, or you can load a prepaid debit/visa card with the money and have them debit that for their payments. There are small fees involved with either with the vendors, but it's a small price to pay for the peace of mind of not giving them direct access to your checking and bank accounts.
