Once sued,.. can Asset Acceptance call???

I have been served the summons by asset acceptance last month, and I responded to the complaint in the timely manner. There is a case management set-up in the next 20 days...
yesterday i received a call from asset acceptance... not from their lawyer.. Can they do that???

it is one of two things.
1)they want to try to get you to settle
2)they want to give you misinformation to get a default judgement.
go to court,present your side and see what happens.this is a bottomfeeder extraordinaire.i wouldn't trust them at all.

No, there's no law saying the CA can't call after they've filed a lawsuit. Unless you've previously sent them a C&D -- then they can only call to tell you of some specific action they intend to take.
