I have not used them. I did look them up on the BBB. They are not members which isn't necessarily a bad thing. However there were some concerns.

They on the positive side they are members of TASC. Honestly I would shop around with other companies to compare. Just please for the love of god do your homework. There are a lot of rip off companies out there.

I enrolled with American Debt Control in Dec 2007 after my hours at work where being cut, leaving with less money to pay my bills. I have been paying them $300 a month for almost a year, all awhile thinking they where paying my creditors something each month. The day after Thanksgiving I received a certified letter from a lawfirm saying Citibank was going to sue due to non payment. This was very surprising since my represenitive said I couldn't be sued. So I was forced to take $1.000 out of my checking a week ago to be sent to the lawfirm and i have to pay another $450 in Jan. In the begining they told me my first three payment would go to them for fees. then the rest after that would go to my creditors. So I thought I was giving them $300 a month for my creditors, wromg after I contacted them about Citibank they told me that they take $142 from my $300 for themselves. I'm worse off now then I was. I've had five different represenitives since starting with them and each one has told me different things. I now have no money left in my checkings account to pay my bills and a very upset husband. Because I thought I was doing something to help myself. I wouldn't recommed anyone enroll with them. My life is now a mess because of them. All that I have to look forward to is more lawsuits and bankruptcy. There will be no Christmas gifts for my daughter this year. Thanks to American Debt Control.

I have personal knowledge concerning American Debt Control. I used their services and immediately was sued for my choice. I was served with a lawsuit within months of working with ADC, I was assured that they could prevent this or at least predict this. After paying my first initial fees, I was advised by the service department that I had no chance and should just file bankruptcy. In the end what I learned is that my first payments were taken only for the bait on the switch. Once my initial payments were done, the service was done as well. Needless to say I do not have a positive recommendation.

BEWARE: Don't be a sucker like I was. I did not see these complaints in time. I started using ADC in Dec of 2008 and I'm now being sued. They have taken a ton of my money, and did nothing for me, I thought everything was going as planned and then the door bell rang with a summons and complaint. After they re-assured me that this would not happen. Joke was on me, now I have to get an attorney and come up with more money, gee I think ADC should pay for them. You are better off in the long run talking to attorney first. Don't make the mistake like some of us on here.

thanks a lot american Debt for making my situation worse!

I contacted our Attorney General in Ohio and American Debt was forced to give me a total refund. I had to use that money to hire an attorney and I had to file for Bankruptcy. I don't want anyone else to end up like me, I'm so ashamed at the situation I'm in. After I thought I had found a way to help myself. Another leason learned the hard way. I hope places like this go out of business. They only serve to make money for themselves and bury people in need.

i'm so sorry you all had these terrible experiences. unfortunately, this is the common theme amongst these companies, TASC certified or not. Debt settlement is OK to do on your own, where you're in control.

Some creditors actually escalate your accounts to legal status once they know you are working with an agency, which is why you may have noticed it happen so shortly after signing up.

I have a bad experience with a girl named Cassy, she is supposed to be a manager of thier settlements. She never returned my calls. I feel ripped off, I pay someone I should expect a call at least. Nothing! Good job Debt control. Why would you hire people like this? Needless to say,I quit their program

I have been shopping around for a debt consolidation because to be honest, I am sick of doing it myself and dealing with my debtors. I have looked up numerous companies only to find page upon page upon page of complaints. American Debt Control looked great and once again if something is to good to be true. . .it usually is. After doing some basic research I found this site and I also used the better business bureau. They have 7 complaints against them, all within the last couple of months and have earned (not sure if earned is the correct verbiage here) a 'F' rating. Stay away from this company. I recommend contacting your state's Department of Financial Institutions. They will be able to recommend a reputable agency that is LOCAL.

This is all such a shame, I worked very close with Cassie for some time she was always quick to answer my calls and questions! My husband and I call her our feisty Chihuahua she is so sweet to us but man she can get the best deals. I could not be happier with my experience with all the folks at ADC. I refer family and friends!

Hi, I???m Zack Anderson, President of American Debt Control, LLC, a full service debt settlement company. I???ve noticed our company???s name mentioned here in ways that do not at all reflect how we work with clients. This concerns us because we have worked hard to build our company from the ground up by doing business the right way.

My sister, Nicole, and mother, Linda, and I founded the company in 2005 after working several years in the debt settlement industry. We saw some things we thought should be changed to give the client a better deal, so we took the big step of establishing American Debt Control. We have been successful helping our clients. In 2008 alone, we saved our clients nearly $7 million in balances owed and helped them get back control of their lives.

We get very few complaints, and when we do, we work hard with our clients to resolve them. The alleged incidents I see mentioned on this Website do not have a familiar ring to them. It would be easier to verify information ??? and help provide a solution ??? if people would provide their identities.

Think about it: many such forums are sponsored by organizations that most people would consider competitors of ours. People can anonymously post any comments they wish without any means of verification. Anyone can post a comment anonymously, and there is no way of knowing the full facts or if the incident actually took place.

I admit it: American Debt Control is not perfect. We do not satisfy every client, but we always do what we believe is the right thing to do for our clients. We tell prospective clients at the beginning about the positives and negatives of debt settlement.
We feel so strongly about this that earlier this year, I wrote a special report titled, ???12 Questions to Ask Before You Hire a Debt Settlement Company.??? It is available, without charge at http://www.americandebtcontrol.com/special-report.aspx or by emailing us at info@americandebtcontrol.com.
I am concerned about some of the comments I see here; not just for our company???s reputation, but for the pain these people feel. I would love to have the people who post anonymously contact me so we can work to address their concerns. I think it is quite possible some clients may not have fully understood the debt settlement process. If that???s the case, perhaps we need to do a better job explaining it, but we will never know as long as people choose to voice their concerns anonymously online instead of talking to us directly.

Finally, one more topic needs to be addressed: the Better Business Bureau. This organization serves an important function in every community across the USA ??? helping promote an ethical marketplace where buyers and sellers can trust each other. American Debt Control fully subscribes to the BBB???s goal, but we are not a member. Why not? Because the BBB discriminates against the entire debt settlement industry.

In March 2009, American Debt Control had a B rating from the Better Business Bureau. Then, the BBB decided to give a blanket rating of ???F??? to the entire debt settlement industry. Because of the actions of a few disreputable debt settlement companies, the BBB falsely labeled an entire industry as bad. So much for being rewarded for running a sound business, as we do.

This is grossly unfair to our industry and to the public which counts on the BBB for guidance.
The BBB now says it is considering a new grading system for the debt settlement industry. That in itself is a tacit admission of their error, but the best we can do for now is hope they make amends soon.

Throughout the four years we have been in business, the Fort Worth BBB itself states American Debt Control has resolved all but two complaints filed there, and that in those two cases we ???made every reasonable effort to resolve??? them. I ask you to consider that when you read anonymous complaints in this or any other public forum. When we are aware of a problem, we do everything within our power to resolve it the best way possible for our clients.

If you would like to contact me to go over any service issues or misunderstandings, I would love to hear from you. If the e-mail address below is deleted on this site, please call the main number on American Debt Control???s website and let the specialist know that you are calling to discuss a situation, and I will personally see that it is addressed immediately.

Sincerely,

Zack Anderson ??? President/Co-Founder
American Debt Control

Two years ago (November 2007), my wife and I had approximately $40,000 ($39,875.83) dollars in debt and we were struggling to make our monthly payments. With the help of American Debt Control (ADC), we were able to pay-off all our credit card debt. In addition, our credit scores have improved so much, we were able to purchase (closed July 2009) a new 3600 ft2 home at a fixed interest rate of 5.25%. None of this would have been possible with the services provided by American Debt Control.

My friend was very happy with their service and we are using them. They told us we could be sued and they also told us the $300 per month was going to fees and not the debt. We already have settled reasonably with one creditor and have been contacted by others with some reasonable offers which we will consider. We are not happy nor unhappy with the service so far and they are very responsive to our questions

1st, Zack Anderson is no longer with ADC (I know because I tried to get in contact with him to resolve my problems with ADC, and they informed me he sold it). Do not use ADC. As with most other people posting here, I have been sued by the credit card companies. I've worked through it, largely on my own, with no help from ADC. They were not able to settle 50% of my accounts, and are refusing to refund the upfront money paid to them to settle the accounts. Their "3 year plan" took 5 years to complete. I can't get a response to a phone call or email to save my life, and have not had meaningful contact with them in over a year. If they do manage to do anything with your accounts, good luck getting the paperwork from them. If you have financial problems, call a non-profit credit counseling service. They will have the best shot at actually getting you out of your credit problems safely and legally. Do NOT use ADC.
