My husband has a credit card with Credit One Bank that is over 120 past due. The total balance is $686.00. I sent them a letter to settle it for $252.00 and have not heard back from them. Are they a sue-happy company?

they won't sue for that little.that was one of my cards.they will
use ER SOLUTIONS and NCO to collect.then they will charge off and sell the debt.the JDB will most likley threaten a suit.that is when you request validation.

JDB stands for junk debt buyer.when an account is charged off it is sold.usually for pennies on the dollar.most likely by a CA you see in many posts here.

credit one bank doesn't settle for less than the full balance. if a third party settles with you it's because they paid credit one for your account to get it off their books.

nco financials and er solutions are collection companies contracted by credit one bank to collect the balance due.an account usually charges off once it reach the 187th delinquency day.i don't think credit one bank has its own recoveries department so i'm pretty sure that a charged off credit one account will be sold to a debt buyer.no settlement is being offered by the bank but they can probably help you out with some (not all) of the fees that has been charged on the account.one thing is for sure....THEY DON'T SUE.

Credit one is a high risk credit card; meaning you are high risk in paying your debt back. It's a second chance for people with poor or no credit to rebuild there credit, That's why they charge you high interest and fees. You're not going to get a settlement, because credit one doesnt do settlements. Why are you so special to get lee-way late fees being waived when you weren't on time on paying your payments. Everything in the world has late fees, and I wish people would understand this. If you don't pay rent on time, you get a late fee, and if you dont pay that for 2-3 months you'll be evicted. So they're not going to reward you on not paying your debt back on time. And anyways this is the contract that YOU signed too. So why are you suprised?!

And I know someone who was sued off of a Credit One bank account-- their balance was 1,000, but usually they don't sue you, whoever takes the charge off can sometime do it too. credit cards arent free money, and everyone gets in a financial bind. However with money and loans, If you're late you have to pay for it-- thats real life.

Wow, ya'll don't hold anything back. Yeah, most people know that they have late fees and interest. But things happen that can be beyond peoples control, and I'm sure anyone on this site would love to be able to pay off all their debts with no problems at all, then they wouldn't even need this site to come to ask advice. antidebtor I hope you never find yourself upon hard times, karma can be a ?

The business I work for is getting harrassed from?. They are calling and asking for me and will not say who they are or whom they represent. I had taken the calls initialy and they called me names and swore. It is the same man all the time who can barely speak english, is rude and uses a false name. One day he is a lawyer the next day he threatned me several times that the police were coming after me. I have no clue who these people are or what company they represent but I do have a Credit One Card and have not paid it the last three months as my husband was laid off and just went back to work. I have a feeling these people might work for Credit One. Calling me on my job is illegal and the threats are illegal and abusive. I have called the number they left one time and the same person answered the phone gave me crap when I asked whom they represent and hung up. I called the police (after all this is my job on the line) and told them. The telephone number cannot be traced. Can someone please tell me if this sounds like previous complaints, or has had the same experience. Another question, could it be Dell Financial? Anyone have abusive calls?
Thank you
