What type of debt do your have, and what amount? The reason I am asking is that sometimes you can do this yourself, I did.

i'm trying to find a way to pay these off at 50% or less of the original amount. I am currently not late on any, but have been balance transfering between them for a year + some personal cash. Wife lost her job, so I'm SOL now. Read on here that some settle on their own, but I'm trying to avoid so many banks calling. any advice you can offer is appreciated.

Do not use CYdebt has your debt consolidation company or any other debt consolidator for that matter. They do not eliminate the debt and they do not stop the harrassing calls or nor do they stop legal judgements from happening even when they promise they will. CYDEBT ended up taking from me over $6000 that could have gone to my creditors and they did not stop legal action against me and they started garnishing wages. What you need to know that before they start So call working on your case with the creditors they will collect their money first as much as $10-15K depending on the amount of debt. Cler your Debt is a total rip off, they do not help to resolve your financial problems. Every thing gets worst for you and your economy situation. You wont notice it in to is too late..

I am in a similar situation, just got laid off, have125k in cc debt. I am going to sign up with Freestar Financial in their debt relief program. At this point I am not worried about my credit rating, just want to reduce my debts. Called the cc co's myself and got nowhere.

I used cydebt, they lied and ripped me off $3600.00 . They set up a ficticous bank account, and before I knew it, it was too late!!! My attorney and the judge had me contact the state attorney general , I am still waiting !!!
