Hello :)
I'm new but have already found relief in knowing that so many other people have been caught up in, and relieved from, payday loans. I have a quick question ....
A storefront loan company, Ace, is threatening hot check/fraud/theft by check charges. Is this possible? I keep reading that internet loan places cannot press these charges but what about storefronts? I called the local DA and he said yes, IF they bring it to them (the DA) then they can. What are the chances? We obviously can't pay the full amount, $1200, and that's all they'll accept.

Thanks :)

**update**
I called the DAs office again and the lady I spoke to said that they cannot bring hotcheck/fraud/theft by check charges against me. She said that more than likely they won't even contact the DAs office but, if they do, we will be given the opportunity to settle the debt and no charges will be brought against us.
WHEW! I have LOTS of research to do on this site. I've found today that the few IPDLs I have are functioning illegally in TX. One Click Cash, 500 Fast Cash, BIG, and B & L. We'll be gathering and posting the detailed info soon.
This site is such a breath of fresh air!
THANK YOU!
