Statue of Limitation??
Date: Wed, 10/01/2008 - 17:52
Hey,
I was wondering if there is a statue of limitations for a Collections agency to report a collection to the credit bureau?
I had a false rental collections against me about 5 years ago with a roommate, we went to court but settled in the waiting room that they would wipe out the debt and erase all traces of ever having a collection against us if we didn't take it into court.
Come to find out today 4 years ago later they put a "Paid" collections against my old roommate, But haven't done anything to mine or the other 2 roommates that were involved with the dispute. Im very curios if they can single him out like that, and if they can still add it onto my credit report?
thanks for any help
Nick
