Does anyone know if the J. Warren Financial Group is Legitimate and are they OK to use for debt settlement?

Have you checked out RAM Financial Services?

You don't need a debt settlement company. All they will do is send a bunch of cease & desist letters that your creditors will probably ignore. They will wait until your debt has charged off (left the original creditor) or has nearly charged off and then start making really low settlement offers - and they keep a decent chunk of change for themselves. You could just start saving the money in a savings account, stop paying your bills for 9 months and believe me - the settlement offers will start rolling in, most from automatically generated letters from the credit card companies. There is really no reason you need a settlement company. You can find cease and desist letters on the internet if you really want to send them (they'll probably get ignored unless the debt is already with a third party collector) and negotiate on your own. You don't get a better deal or any benefit by using a company.

This is in regards to not needing a company to settle your debt. If the company doesnt have attorneis that actually work on your behalf, then why even bother. if you wait 9 mos. and then contact the creditors to settle, you better already have that cash set aside to do the settlement. The creditors will only wait for so long to re-cop the money. Then at some point, they will take you into court, then you are doomed, especially if you are working. Once they go into court, it is set in stone. You will have court cost and attorney fees added to your already inflamed balance. Then they can take up to a set percentage based on your state laws out of you paycheck until the are totally paid. In Indiana it is 25%. There is a great company out there that has been in business for almost a decade and they have attorneys go in and settle your debt. Credit Card Relief.

Just wait and the credit card companies will settle with you for .50 cents on the dollar.

They are legitimate and I am using them. My only complaint is that for the first year and a half, half of your payment goes to their fee. The rest goes in your account and they do not contact any creditors until you have enough in your account to make a settlement. I have been paying them for one year now and so far they have settled with one of my creditors. If you have any bills with high balances, it can take a long time to accumulate enough funds. If you get sued by a creditor you are on your own. They will send you blank legal forms and walk you through filling them out properly, but you are the one that has to go file and serve everything and appear in court. They will still not do anything with the creditor suing you until there is enough in your account to settle the debt. If you need to talk with them, it can sometimes take as long as 15 minutes to get someone on the phone.

Yes I used them and what a rip off! I never got a refund for what I paid in to the company and still had to file bankruptcy. BEWARE and just don't do it! Please see a bankruptcy attorney.

We used them and for 1 1/2 years. Our entire first 3 payments to them went almost entirely for their fee, then on the subsequent payments about 60% goes towards their fee and only 40% goes into your savings with them. After about 18 months, they only charge about $42 per payment received and the balance goes into your money bank. They only make a settlement if you have enough in your pot of money with them for them to make a settlement. They initially send you a bunch of cease and desist letters that you have to send out yourself that are supposed to stop the phone calls but the phone calls never really stopped. They don't contact any of your creditors until the time comes that you have enough money in your money bank for a settlement. They then call you for your permission to make the settlement. They only settled two small accounts in the 1 1/2 years we were with them. They were miserable to get on the phone, the wait (sometimes 15 minutes) was exhausting and we would rarely get the same person twice which meant explaining the problem over and over again to someone new. Then our larger creditors started suing us and suing us and suing us. We had process servers showing up at our house and at our work constantly. It was embarrassing and stressful. All J. Warren would do when we were being sued was to send us blank court documents and tell us how to fill them out, file and serve them. Then we were the ones that had to file the responses with the court at $692.00 per filing on top of our payment to J. Warren. We kept having to file fee waivers with the court and then appear in front of a judge to explain why we couldn't pay the $692.00 in court fees. Sometimes the court fees would get waived and sometimes they wouldn't. All the time during this process J. Warren tells you that they are not attorneys and can't give legal advice, nor will they ever call one of your creditors to help get the heat off of you until you have enough money for them to settle the case. Now with them taking over half of your money every month, and your balances escalating with interest, penalties and legal fees, trust me when I tell you that you will never have enough in your pot to settle your larger debts. We ended up filing for bankruptcy and cancelling our contract with J. Warren. Of course we got no refunds on all the fees we paid them. We should have just filed for bankruptcy in the very beginning, but we were trying to do the right thing by getting out debts paid and avoiding bankruptcy. I have to say, since we filed for the bankruptcy, the stress of all of this nonsense has now pretty much gone away. Take our advice, talk to a lawyer before hiring these people. Out of 13 accounts we turned over to them, they settled only 2 in 1 1/2 years, the rest started to sue and in the meantime our credit was taking a horrendous beating on a monthly basis. Now that we've filed for bankruptcy, it has all stopped. We suddenly have nothing to do, no more court appearances, no more phone calls to avoid, no more waiting on hold to get someone at J. Warren on the phone, no more process servers to deal with, no more typing court documents or standing in line to file papers in court on something you can't win anyway. I can not believe we put up with it so long. Your creditors do not have the patience to wait for a a phone call from these people until you have enough money for them. By the time you are able to save the money with J. Warren, you will be done and cooked with most of your creditors. What a mistake this was.

DEBT REMEDY SOLUTIONS ARE NOT SAFE I KNOW A PERSON WITH A 90k DEBT THEY ASKED HIM TO SEND THEM a 40k cashiers check which the person did and right after they filed bankruptcy and thats only one person that i know off. IMAGINE HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TAKEN ADVANTAGE OFF!!! IT IS UNREAL!!! EVEN THOUGHT THEY ARE MEMBERS OF The Association Of Settlement Companies (TASC) I HAVE MUCH MORE TO SHARE BUT MOST PEOPLE ARE TOO STUBBORN TO LISTEN SO ALL YOU CAN DO IS DO THE RESEARCH AND HOPE FOR THE BEST. EVEN THE ONES THAT LOOK LEGIT ARE REALLY NOT. VERY FEW ARE REAL YOU MUST USE YOUR AVAILABLE TOOLS TO ACHIEVE FINANCIAL SECURITY OR AS CLOSE AS YOU CAN GET RIPPOFFREPORT/TASC/BBB/...ETC
