Hi all! I have a few question I was hoping you might help with. I will probably post them seperately.

First,
I have a boat load of "open accounts" on my credit report. Some of them are old credit cards....visa, m/c, etc. so I will probably keep those. Some are from department stores that I haven't used IN YEARS. Is it safe to close those? Also, they seem to hang around for 7 years(ish). Is there any way to get that off my score or no (ex: late payment by 30 days in 2002)?
Thanks!

I'm sure you could google a sample CLD letter, but I can't give you mine. (They're a trade secret from my company and I could get sued)

The CLD letters are used to dispute late pays that are on an account. Which can help, because your payment history is 35% of how you score is based.

Were you late or is the late payment being erroneously reported? Per the FCRA, you can dispute the accuracy of anything being reported. You can simply file a dispute with the reporting agency as "Never Late". This will either be confirmed or corrected by the data furnisher. If you actually were late, tehn do a search for Goodwill letters.

And Javan....there are no "Trade Secrets" only shady practices by even shadier companies....

That is absolutley correct.

Nascar as far as being "shady" we as a company(Accurate Credit Experts) do not have anything to hide. We are registered with the BBB, Secretary of State, and we are also bonded. Our company/program has no hidden fees everything is given in writing up front. As far as the "Trade Secrets" is all in how you use the laws agianst the collection agency/origional creditors to make them validate the information that they are reporting and how you word the letters depending on what you are going after.

True, "most" information is available freely on sites. But we dont only use the consumer protection laws. We use other laws as well to get items removed. Paul, watch "VERY CLOSELY" all that you want, i am here to give advice and if people need professional assistance i will be more than happy to help. Also remember that the proof is in the pudding! We have results less than 30 days old that show out of 27 accounts we received 15 deletions. That is over a 50% deletion rate in case your calculator is not working. We dont tell you what we can do we show you you. If you have any questions about our company or what we do feel free to ask for our number and speak to our General Manager. His name is Darrell and his email address is email removed. Have a wonderful day!
