I am refaincing my house to pay credit debtoff and capitol one has placed a lein on my house i am from pa.my husband has called them and andre(smartass) tells him he a bum and he needs to pay it in full now and then continues to get cocky left and right so my husband says I am trying to clear this so you can get paid and he still keeps going so finally he hangs up.What should I do know without him settling with us we can't refiance to pay? Please help

Pull your credit reports and see if a judgement is being reported. Also, either call the courts or check online to see if a judgement has been filed against you. If you find that one has been filed, go down to the court of record and obtain a copy of the file. Look closely at method of service to see how they claim you were served.

WHO hung up? The collector or your husband?
I'm a collector and find it hard to believe a collector would be that stupid as to hang up.
There should be no problem if you're willing to pay.
Call the agency back, tell someone you want to pay, make sure they have the right account info, ask them to send you a letter stating that upon receipt of the agreed amount the account is paid in full. Tell them you want the letter faxed to you before you pay.
