LVNV sues

As you are saying that you????????re being served by LVNV then I assume that there is a court date written on it. When the collection agency is LVNV, then my suggestion to you is to be ???????Assertive???????. As far as I know, LVNV buys old debts at a very low price from the original creditors and harass for collection.

Have you contacted the collection agency after getting the papers? If you don????????t appear in the court on the designated date then LVNV will get a default judgment against you and you have to abide by the said judgment.
In many cases it has been seen that the concerned collection agency makes a deal with the debtor in settling the debt prior to hearing. Have you called LVNV yet? If not then call them and try to settle the debt with them. If you don????????t get them over phone and leave a message for them on their answering machine saying that you want to settle before the hearing. You can send LVNV a certified letter mentioning your intention to settle the debt. I hope you have their address.

Please note that, during the deal everything should be in writing. Believe me, they don????????t like documents and always pressurize to talk over phone. But insist on dealing with them via written mail. Don????????t trust them over phone. They are abominable and thus always make dealings with them through written mails. Once you both agree to a certain amount of debt settlement then get it written on papers.

Another note of caution: - If the deal ends in monthly payment then please take a written agreement of the end date of the monthly payment. Otherwise they will continue sucking you out for endless time.
