I recieved a call from Anthony Galloway & Assocs about a loan from FSM Group. Thankfully I've found this board & know not to make any payments to AG&Assocs, but I do want to try to contact the original lender & square things away with them. I can't find any info on FSM Group online & can't locate any of my documents at home (not sure I even have any since everything was done online & over the phone) I KNOW that I had a loan with ICS, but I had a couple loans & do not know if this FSM & ICS is one in the same or not. I feel like they are, but was wondering if anyone else may know.

Thanks for all the info here on Anthony Galloway & Assoc. It was a huge relief to read about them hear & not have to worry about a cop waiting in my driveway when I got home.

FSM is not ICS or Cash Today. Search forums for FSM group and you will find all their contact info. They DO NOT use AG&assoc or Ellis Crosby- whatever name they are using today. They will help you to find the company to pay your debt to. In my case it was Accounts Receivable Tech, and they were really nice and easy to work with . Good luck!

Hi

FSM Processing might hire ART(Accounts Receivables technologies) for collection purpose. But it will be better if you place the call directly to the lender and make payment arrangements. ART is also a nice collection agency to deal with but you won't like to see your accounts in collection in your credit file. It will stay as a negative mark for the next 7 years. So, if possible make an arrangement with FSM Processing and work out a plan. I hope this will be of great help.

These are some of the threads that might relate to your situation. Have a look

Thanks for the info, both of those threads are helpful.

It does appear though that AG&Assoc/Ellis Crosby has somehow gotten ahold of the FSM Group accounts also. I have never recieved a call from any other CA regarding this loan, just the one from AG&Assoc.

I'll try to contact FSM directly to set up payment. Thanks again!

Guest,

You can consider a debt consolidation program also. It can help you to pay off your debts with simple monthly installment and within a short time that you might not do by your own. The consultants who work in the program are efficient enough to negotiate with your creditors so that they agree to accept the payment plan that you can afford.

You can avail free counseling by registering yourself with this site. Best of luck.

I talked with FSM Group, and the woman said that their website, fsmprocessing.com, was under construction, and people would have to call in regarding their accounts. I noticed that the numbers on the other thread did not work, and this is the number that I called: 1-866-516-9300, and I talked to Kathy Reynolds at extension 224. I specifically said, "Is this the company that goes by FSM Group when debiting finance charges from my checking account?". She said "Yes". She was really nice, so give her a call. I'm in the middle of paying my loan off, so I haven't experienced rediculous phone calls, but if I do, my lawyer, who also happens to be my husband, will be giving them a threatening phone call right back at them. Hope this helps.

I got a call from Terry Henderson w. Jacobi & Mayors also. He threatened me with being arrested today if I did not make a payment by 6:00 today. Can they do this? I am new at this and don't know how to respond judging from what I have read on this message board. I have two kids to feed without help. I need to pay back my loan but I'm not sure who to trust. Can anyone respond?

Hi Marie07

Welcome to the forums.

A collection agency can take legal actions if they are holding your debt legitimately. But, they should give you the necessary details of this account before they intend to take any legal actions.

Please send them a registered mail for debt validation. They are required to give you the details of the said account within 5 days after receiving your letter. You will come to know about the company holding your account legitimately.

If they don't send, you can refuse to pay the debt. Send your letters certified with return receipt requested to have a proof of all your correspondence.

Regards
Roxette

I was told by the collection agency for E-Dollars direct that this company is trying to collect on accounts fraudulently. I have placed a complaint with the FTC, and have decided to record any correspondence I have with the company.

I asked them to provide me with something in writing and the guy Jeff forwarded me to someone else, and he informed me that they were not at liberty to provide me with anything in writing. But the young lady from the FTC told me they were. So basically, contact the original place you received the loan from and take it from there.

Shana

The fdcpa law clearly mentions that the collection agency is required to send the account details in writing within 5 days after making the initial communication. If they don't send any such details, send a debt validation from your side through certified mail with return receipt requested. You will have proof of all your actions taken towards this debt account. Moreover, the federal law states that you can refuse to pay the debt until it has been completely validated.

Cover your bases so that you can strike back against them with legitimate reasons. Do keep us posted on this matter.

Regards
Roxette

Slhelsel, you are in contact with the wrong company here. I think you are putting this query to ICS who are taking out money from your account without your authorization. You might have entered your personal and bank information in their site some time back. ICS has done such offensive activities on many consumer accounts. Call ICS at 1-800-990-9926 and resolve this matter. Send a certified letter as well so that you can track down the correspondence. Hire a lawyer if they are not willing to refund the money back.

I just received a call from Sam Cobbs at Jacobi & Mayors and he said they he also would send this account to court. When I asked him to fax me a copy of the debt he said they were not allowed to do so. He also said he could not even tell me the orignal company that the debt originated from. They want a ridiculous amount of money by 11am. I am trying to find information them to no avail. I did a search as he told me they were an attorney's office, I did find out they are a collection agency. Not sure what my next step should be.

I talked to the FTC and they told me the same thing. So I sent them out a letter via certified mail asking them to stop calling me at work, telling them they broke the law under the fair credit collections act and asking them to send me a copy of the original debt or contract.
Thanks

Shawna, there is nothing to worry in this case. Any collection agency is required to give you the debt validation details in writing as per the fdcpa laws. This collection is forcibly trying to take money from you without any legitimate purpose.

You must send one debt validation letter through certified mail with return receipt requested. The laws state that until the collection agency has served you the required details, you can refuse to make the payment. Keep the receipts of your letters in safe place so that you have a proof to defend yourself.

As per the state laws, you can also record the phone calls regarding debt collections. If the company is not following the FDCPA laws, you can record them for legal purpose. Some states allow recording of the phone calls secretly whereas some states require permission to be taken. Check the statutes with the AG's office in your state before recording the phone call. You should not give them any chance to file a case against you for breaking the law on statutes.

If any company asks you for money first to receive a loan, chances are you will never get the loan and you are out the $70. I fell victim to a scam for a loan. i sent them $230( stupid me) and never received a thing. So I would be very careful. I would hate for others to lose their hard earned money.

Could you give us some more information,ICS is a collection agency, and they do not do loans,so you must be talking about another company.Do you have the full name of company.Legit loan companies do not ask for money upfront to receive a loan. Most of the scam companies that have been listed on this board, did ask for alot more than $70,but maybe they are going smaller now, since alot of people are on to them. What did they say the $70 was for and did they ask you to send it by Western Union?

I just received a call from Amaya Blanchard at CRSI in Houston representing FSM Group. She told me that I had to make payment arrangements today or they were going to go ahead and process my insuffient funds. She told me that I better get an attorney and that she was going to contact my co-worker so that she could verify/identify me for further processing of my account. I kept asking her to validate the debt and she said they have sent me 2 notices of course none of them I have seen. When I kept asking her what she meant by procssing for further action, she wouldn't tell me. Anyone had to deal with these folks before?

I deal with them at least twice a month on an account for my mom. They think they are above the law. CRSI stands for Certified Recovery Systems. Processing for further action is one of their famous threats. Send them a debt validation letter certified mail with return receipt. Make them validate the information! I have sent them 3 cease and desist letters for communication on my moms account and they have ignored them. I have an appt to see an attorney on files charges against them for violating 3 cease and desist letters.

They strike again, this company is known for their very illegal collection tactics.
Please read the link pasted below, you will learn alot.

http://forums.debtcc.com/creditors-information/about13221.html

Do not send these people any money, until they verify the debt...which they don't seem to do.

Tell them, no debt validation, no money.

Don't worry, you will not be arrested...they have used this line on everybody.
