I'm losing my job in december 2008. I have a mortgage and credit card debt. I will be able to afford my mortgage payments but not my credit card payments. I have enough money to pay off half my credit card debt. are credit card companys setteling for half. or should I just file for bankrupty and keep my money

Do not think that bk is the answer...bk lasts for up to 10 years on your credit...filing bk isn't as easy as it should be. Why don't you call the toll-free number of 1-800-601-1579 or register and someone will get in touch with you to discuss your options.
