I need some advice. I have a somewhat massive credit card debt situation (massive for me the single mother) and I have ignored it for the last 2 years. I am wondering if there is any way to make it right this late in the game and where do I start?

It's never too late! It's going to take a lot of work on your part and it will take some time...but it'll be worth it!

First, I would pull all three credit reports and compare them to see where you stand in reality with all of your debts. It's going to show you any wrong information as well that you will need to dispute. Make a list of all of the companies you owe money too as well as the amounts you owe. I would imagine that if it's been two years since you've paid...those debts have been sold to collection agencies.

Then take a look at your budget. How much are you bringing in ever month and how much are your monthly bills (not including these past debts)? What can you cut out to give you more money during the month? Are you able to get a second job...or maybe a better paying job to start digging out?

It's so great that you want to get started. I was in a similar situation about a year ago...I never thought I would get out but I worked really hard...and now I'm debt free (except for my student loans!...but I'm current). I now have two credit cards that I use same as cash .... I don't worry about money anymore. I just live within my means.

Keep checking out this site...there is so much you'll learn here!
