Not sure where to post this qustion...I know lots of us have fallen on hard times, however I'm guessing others of us have a real spending problem. I was just curious if anyone has ever went to a debtors anonymous meeting and what you thought of it?

I think any kind of "anonymous" meetings are great; however, if a person has any type of addiction, be it drugs, gambling, or spending, there needs to be some sort of therapy involved also. If you think you have any type of mental or emotional problems then seek out help with a licensed mental heath therapist. If you don't have insurance, many states/cities have mental health clinics available at low or no cost to the patient.

Ron is right. You have to be really careful when you are dealing with any type of addiction. There are probably on-line meetings for Debtors Anonymous on the web, there are for A.A.

I am not sure that starting one on this site is a good idea. You have to have someone who has been in this type of program who is experienced, help. Otherwise, you will get alot of opioions, not experience.

Check your local listings and helping agencies, they can help you find out where and when meetings may be held. As a counselor, I always recommend meetings, but also other types of help to add to it, such as counseling, mental health help, etc..karen BTW- these meetings will be at no cost, theyare self-supporting, and alot of times you can get counseling at reduced or no cost also..

You can contact me for how to pay off your debts. I have paid back the debts I have owed, on my own without a settlement company. I have never said that you don't pay what you owe.

I have said that trying to collect a debt that is 20+ years old and has been paid back 3 times, I would not pay on.

I haven't seen any person on this site that is credible, say not to pay your bills. This site is for getting help, and knowing your rights as a consumer.

And "Guest" if you would like to contact me, I'll be happy to tell you straight where you can go! And what you can do to yourself on the way there.

Not family friendly, so I can't post it here.

Feel free to send me a PM.

Oh wait, that would first require you registering on this site, in order to PM me, and giving up the anonymous "Guest" status you idiots like to hide behind when you come on here posting your semi-illiterate and asinine comments.

This must be the same bozo that spammed my personal page.
