They have 2 of my credit card accounts. I talked with them on the phone and set up a payment plan with them. Now after finding this site and reading everything, I figure I shouldn';t have done this. Is there a way I can get out of it? Or am I stuck now until I get it all paid off?
I am being smarter now with other collection agencies and sending letter, not talking on the phone, etc.

HOw were you informed of the accounts? Did they call, mail or did you discover them by pulling your credit reports? Have you pulled your credit reports recently? Did you give them access to your bank account when you set up the payment arrangement? I would send them a debt validation letter before agreeing to anything. Your verbal agreement really means nothing unless you gave them your banking info.

I know now to do things differently. This one particular debt I guess I did mess up on. I have them taking $500 each month from my account to pay this down until I can get a lower settlement with them.
any future ones I am sending the DV letter once I get something from them before giving them any info.
