In order for the judgement to be valid, they must serve your with a summons (PROPERLY!!) and give you the opportunity to answer as per state law.
That's just a little information...but I'm sure someone who knows much more will be along soon :)
They told me I could make payments of xx amount for xx months, B

Contact your county clerks office to see if the summons is legit; if it is, make sure that you appear in court on that day or a judgement will be issued against you.

An affadavit. request for production of documents or admissions? Who is suing you? When was the last time you paid on the account? Is this the first communication you have recieved?
