Payday loan help in Pennsylvania

I live in Pennsylvania and have 3 internet payday loans. i have put a stop payment on all three at my bank. the loans are with are paydayone, united cash loans, and 500 fast cash. the last two i found were illegal in the us. Do i have to pay the illegal ones? i have tons of questions. i sent payday one a money order for 10.00 . that's all i had. should i close my account or will i be sued for fraud? I am a renter so if these payday loan companies go after me how will the get a judgement on something i don't own? Can another state from a the pdl garnish wages from a resident of pennsylvania? Can i be in trouble for closing my account if my pdl company is out of pennsylvania? I noticed some pdl can use criminal action? is that true. I'm a mother who took out loans and can't pay them back now. only what i can afford each month. i got fuel with the money and car repairs. i'm so scared a cop is going to come and take me away or i will i have to go to court if the pdl company does sue me but do i have to go to that state. how will i get there?


Abby! Stop and breathe! Honest. Read all those sticky posts at the top of this forum. there is a lot of GREAT information up there that will help you. I was you just 30 days ago, but through the information in this forum, I have started my road back to sanity....

Abby, qc is right..................take a deep breath-it's not the end of the world.
I also live in PA.
Our PDL loans won't be regulated until 2/09 so until then, unless a company is illegal, you are obligated to repay what you owe.
Don't worry about being sued-chances are you will only have to put up with relentless collection people.
Contact them and see if you can work out a repayment plan with them.
And by all means read through the info posted on this site-it saved my sanity!

I recieved a payday loan from cash advance in the year 2003 for $176. I moved to Alaska shortly thereafter and completely forgot about it. Now I find that a company that purchased this debt is calling my sisters inlaws. people that aren't even related to me and threatening with criminal and civil actions. they are try ing to charge over $876 for this past transgression. What can I do.
