Taylor James and Associates threating legal action

I just received a call from Elliot Masters at Taylor James and Associates. He said he represented a company called Money Line and that I had taken out a loan and revocked my authorization at the bank and they were proceeding with legal action, namely a charge of fraud and providing a worthless check. They would be proceeding through my employer since I had applied for the loan on my work computer. He wanted the name of the manager so he could varify information the company would be requesting. He spoke very politely and said he would check with the loan company to see if they would allow me to make restitution in full today, before he proceeded with contacting management at my company. I ask for the name of the company that had provided the loan because I had not received anything from MoneyLine. He said MoneyLine provided the money and he was not sure which company the loan was from. I told him that he did not have premission to contact anyone at my place of employment and he said he did not need my permission to contact my place of employment. He said he had received information from my bank this morning that I had rescended authorization for withdrawal for the loan company, which is true. What do I do when he calls back? I only have 2 loans left to pay off but have not been able to get responses from them. I don't even know which company he represents.


make sure you keep the moneygram receipt with the control number. also as best as you can document each instance of their threats anc tactics. I would also send a written request for a paid in full letter. you can write with wording like

This letter is written to confirm your receipt of $XXX, which was transfered to you via a moneygram expresspayment (control or reference no. xxxxxx) on (date you sent payment.

It is my understanding that my account is now paid in full. Please confirm your receipt of this payment in writing within five business days of your receipt of this letter.

Make sure you send the two ways one regular and the other certified, return receipt requested.

Two months is long time to sit around and watch a bunch of nothing ie-mom of twins making foolish suggestions ie- jj with his head up his ass , not to mention Mikey .... GO GET UM!! Mikey, I been readin' these forums and there hasn't a single legitimate person that has been threathened since like page. 3 , and aren't we on page . 11... I don't know who to believe. I know I can't believe mom of twins, she has just been biten too many times, as far as , JJ that clown has some serious issues ... Now, Mikey, you seem to know what your talkin' about... NOW GO OUT THERE AND GET'UM, GET THEM BOYS BREAKIN' THE LAW!!

mIKEY , IT WOULD HELP IF YOU WOULD CALL THEIR PHONE NUMBER.. IT'S DISCONNECTED. I called to speak to Shelby Guy. You even provided the number. Maybe they didn't pay the phone bill, but by the looks of the moderators slander , they cashed in their chips.. fighting a war they realized they couldnt win.

Chances are, the "slander" you speak of is legit. Telling of threats was the same way Ted Crosby was operating under. He's currently fighting a battle in court. The "slander" isn't slander when it's the truth.

No problem now go help some debtors on some of these other websites.... You do a good job Mikey, you may however , want to tighten up a few of the others , lots of unneccessary bantor from moderators that clearly are not here to help debtors, they appear merely as individuals who don't pay bills and are filled with anger and frustration. And Trust me, this is not helpful to the consumers.

There is one difference to be noted here:

Moderators are blamed because they witnessed the woeful experiences of the people who posted their comments here and drew a conclusion against the much talked about company.

On the other side, people from or besides Taylor James are never ready to face the real truth. They just see one side of the coin and keep it with them.

Applying some common sense here, its only when a person is complaining and feeling scared, he will do some research and if he finds others going through similar experiences, he gets some courage to post his comment. And the sad part is that the company instead of resolving the matter is throwing these comments in waste.

Food for thought!! - I purchase some clothes from a departmental store. I will come back home with the item and start wearing it. I will forget about that store if there is no complaint in that item. Or I will remember that store to purchase more items in the future in case I feel happy with the item purchased. But, if there is any defect in the clothes I purchased, I will surely visit that store and make my complaint. Will the store manager say me that I am saying a lie and I never purchased it from there???!!

Other members are just witnessing the whole picture. They are just like a spectator here and making others aware about the past incidence. It's the person who purchased the cloth and the store manager who need to resolve the matter immediately so that the company does not earn a bad name. Why do some people think from their side only and not view what others have to say!!!!

Mikey, it is obvious that these two clowns have no interest in constructive dialogue... but hey the more they come on here spweing, perhaps the less time they have to allegedly harass debtors and reportedly implement unehtical and potentially illegal collection strategies. I move to ban JJ... his comments are offensive..

I love it when people take posts out of context.. anyway moving on, so it seems that another collection agency may have bitten the dust. JLove, since you sent a payment and have proof of it. I would hold onto it, or perhaps contact the original creditor and verify through them that they have record of your payment being accepted by the CA. Just keep good records and relax.

I, also, second holding onto your payment. Right before Ted Crosby went out of business, he also got on this forum defending his company. However, it seemed that Ted Crosby sold most of the accounts and certain consumers were getting calls from new collection companies. The receipt you made will show proof that you cleared that debt.

Someone had mentioned that Taylor James has only one complaint filed on them thru the BBB. Well I'm that one complaint!! As far as it being resolved it never was. I filed my complaint thru the website but never heard anything back. Taylor James threatened me (being arrested) going to court and being charged with felonies. As soon as I asked them for proof of my debt with whistler holdings that was the last I heard of them. They said they were sending it (this was in Dec) it's now Feb and I have not received anything in the mail nor have I heard from them. Also you guessed it, I haven't been served with papers either to appear in court. I'm glad I didn't send them any money. They are not legit in my opinion.

Have you also filed your complaint with the Florida Attorney General? I was first informed of this company RIGHT AFTER Ted Crosby went under. So I'm wondering if they were owned by the same person.

Threatening people in such a manner never gets the job done. I mean just ask Ari, she knows.

kaligrl, might I also suggest that you keep a close eye on your credit file. Chances are that account might get sold to another collection agency.

These individuals are the old individuals under ellis, crosby and associates, which they are being sued by the florida AG, do not send them any money, but contact your state GA and the BBB.
