Monday is the day I go back to the doctor to see how my neck is doing and to find out if I go back to work or if I go on to surgery :?

I stopped therapy a couple weeks ago (it was making it worse) and went to see a chiropractor (which I didn't believe in at the time) because I was in so much pain I was willing to try anything. Well I have to say that he has taken away about 70% of the pain. So thats a good thing.

Last week I went in for a functional capicaty evaluation (sp??) OMG you do not do that if you are not in shape. I haven't worked in 2 months and have been on limited activity so I am WAY out of shape. I am able to walk without pain today and I had that done on Wed. lol. But according to the results that they gave me I will not be able to return to my normal job. But the doctor (and work) will have the final say on that.

So please keep your fingers crossed that no surgery is needed, and less meds. Only more bone cracking lol.

Thought I would give you all an update. I will let you know what happens tomorrow afternoon.

I have had a pinched nerve in my neck for the last 5 years. After many trip to the Chiropractor and several trigger point injections, i was able to recover about 90% of the mobility in my neck but it only took 1 wrong motion to set me back to where I was before the therapy. I will do everything I can to keep from having the surgery that they proposed. Hang in there. I was like you in regards to the Chiropractor but 1 session with the tense (sp?) unit sold me. Good Luck and, like Karen, you'll also be in my prayers.

Thank you all :) The appt. went fine. No talk of surgery :D She did say that I could go back to work on light duty. But with the restrictions she has me on there is no job for me to do. So I am at home for yet another month :? I guess I should be happy, but I am running out of things to do here lol.

The next thing on my list is to shampoo carpets and hubby said not till Dec. So I am going to attack my sons room lol. Hubby won't let me finish it, but thats just too bad. I will finish taking wallpaper off and start stripping his hardwood floor lol. I am sure hubby will like that. But I am bored and he is just working so darn much that he doesn't have time to do it,and he won't let me do it. And here I sit with another 30 days off of work. It must be a man thing

So as of right now I am to keep doing what I have been doing :? and that would be what? No, I am to keep going to the Chiropractor. She says he is doing me good and that I made the right decision to go to him. I am glad she didn't say surgery. I think I would have lived with the pain instead of doing that.

So I thank all for your thoughts and prayers

Hi I have also been down that road

did they tell you exercise MORE and to stop looking at the comp screen in same manner you have been doing? That this would help in your recovery? Sitting in chair always way too much and looking at comp screen has added to so many other afflictions it is hard for docs to diagnose the real prob?
