I guess, I've 'held my piece' as long as I could. So..here it is. I've been on this forum, for a while. I've come across different people who are picked to be MODS. I'm not saying I want to be one.....there's alot of responsiblity in that position, I'm sure. However......with different posts I have made, I've actually had people talk 'down' to me, making me feel like I'm the 'black sheep' or something. Everyone has there opionions and experiences ( good OR bad) on this forum. I tend to be 'outspoken' on some issues and I refuse to apologize for that. So...hopefully someone can clear this question up for me. Those who HAVE put me down for my 'outspokenness' and opionions have been 'granted' to be MODS. How does this happen?

SD, I've always found your posts informative and inciteful. I'm sorry, I guess I haven't come across any of the posts you're talking about... I don't think any mod should be talking down to anybody.

I guess we don't exactly have any prereq's for a mod - it's just whom the admin sees fit based on a person's experience and involvement. I personally think you are fit to be a mod. Anyone second?

Well.......personally, I don't know if i would have the time. Are the MODS on here on a constant basis? I just try to help who I can, and get advice at the same time.

Not a moderator, myself, so not sure if my opinion counts; however I think SDChargers_63 would make a great moderator.

I'm with DebtCruncher as I can't think of any time I have seen your outspokenness cause problems in the forms; if it did, I totally missed it. I know I have been the center of a "poop-storm" a time or two for talking out about what I feel is the right thing to do and the right way to treat people. Others didn't feel I was right; however, and controversies were started.

If that's the only reason you haven't been asked to be a mod, then I think you might need to question that. In the past, I have seen a mod or two behave pretty much the way you described and they felt perfectly justified in doing so. Sort of a "do as I say, not as I do" mentality. A few months back, I questioned a mod regarding a post that I felt was unprofessional and seemed to be and attempt stirring up trouble and the entire thread, not just the post I questioned, was completely deleted and admin couldn't tell me who did it.

So I find it odd whenever someone finds fault in another's actions when they are guilty of the same themselves.

Thsi din't happen recently. It happened sometime ago. At the time, the individual wasn't a MOD.....however, APPARENTLY, my 'outspokeness' bothered this person. I wasn't being "unprofessional", the person thought I was. Anyway.....I will say it again. I will not apologize for anything I say ( past and present..) and I won't 'change' myself, because someone is upset.

Well, at the risk of sounding cliche'.

At the end of the day, you're the only one that has to live with your conscious and whether or not you did the bast that you could do, while trying to avoid being walked all over, mistreated, and standing up for yourself.

If you can live with yourself knowing you didn't mistreat anyone else in the process, then you shouldn't worry about what others may think.

I ALSO would like to add ..alot of you ( from your PM's or posts BACK to me..) think I'm a male. NOPE.....I'm a female. Yep...44 year old, single mom, working full time and serving in the Army Reserves. I'm just a MAJOR football fan ( can't ya tell? San Diego Chargers!! Even though they aren't doing well this season, I still stick with them.). Originally from the West Coast. I thank everyone, again, for your support.

Sometimes, I feel like I'm 'alone' concerning financial issues. But......with ALL of you, on this forum, I feel a bit more at ease. Thanks.

SD- I think you post very informative posts. Don't worry about what others say about what you post. In the 2 years I have been here, I can't count the nasty things said and written about me,pmd, home page, etc. But I don't stay here for them, but for me to hopefully help someone else.

I know I was here over a year before I became mod. One of the things they told me was that they wanted someone that was going to be on the site quite often, and at that time, it was pretty much hit and miss.

Good Luck to you, and keep posting!!..karen
