Current on PDLS, question about bank account/internet loans
Date: Mon, 10/27/2008 - 17:46
I have recently discovered debt consolidation Care and am already addicted. I have two general questions, please.
One: I am current on my PDLS and am working to pay them off within 4 months using the information gained here regarding Extended Payment Plans and paying the internet loans in full when due. My question is this: When people are having to close their accounts is it because they no longer want to pay or cannot pay the interest fees or because the company continues to debit after they are paid off? I am paying off one loan this Friday that I have only had for 8 days because I do not want to incur additional fees. Two more (internet loans) will be paid off on 11/28. As long as they are notified that you wish to pay in full, do most people have any trouble with them continuing to debit?
My second question is, I have had the same bank account for approx. 18 years with the same bank. Do banks monitor and/or care if you have debits and credits from PDL lenders as long as you keep your account with them in good standing?
Thanks for in advance for the answers and help.

Bank account is closed for many reasons. People mainly want to close it because the pdl companies debit more than the stipulated sum of money. Before closing one's a/c one must see whether the the pdls are internet or store front? If they are non-licensed in your state then you're only obligated to pay the principal amount. In case of licensed and store front pdls, you have to abide by the state's payday loan laws.
Before closing an account, please inform your bank about it. If it was not permitted then ask them to put ACH block.

Please do not give out incorrect info. If a PDL is licensed YOUR state laws prevail not the pdl"s. It is always your state laws , except in PA and TN where it is a bit different. If a pdl is licensed anywhere it is considered legal in those states and that is where the licensing states laws prevail.
