Hi Boo. I can totally sympathize with you but, unfortunately, I live in CA and am not familiar with any of the lenders you listed.
I can, however, tell you that I decided that I could no longer let the PDL take all of my check; they were getting about 75% of my net pay and because of them, my home is now on the brink of foreclosure and my car on the verge of repossession.
I decided to go into my two banks (Wells Fargo and WaMu) and talk to the manager. Wells Fargo was really cool and allowed me to open a new account but placed a full block on my original account which I had to do because, not only did I have payday loans, but I had also taken advantage of the Direct Deposit Advance (DDA) feature allowed by Wells Fargo and I owed them $460 + a $46 finance charge. The bank told me that if the account was closed before that DDA cleared, it would automatically open my account back up and then the PDL would start trying to debit my account again.
WaMu wasn't very nice. I tried talking to the manager at the branch I usually go to and he got all annoyed at me and kept asking me "but, don't you owe the money to these lenders?" Finally, I left and went to another branch where I offered no explanation but just told them I wanted to close the account because I didn't like Chase Bank.
I have researched the various lenders that I owe and discovered that Greenlight Funding, USAPaydayLoan, DiscountAdvances, and PaydayMax are not licensed to do business in CA. The other lenders haven't done much as of yet, other than call me non-stop, but I know it's still early as I only closed my account 1 month ago.
Anyways, hang in there Boo. I'm sure others will give you some great advice applicable to your state and the lenders you owe!
Do anybody know where I legally stand with these companies.

Spudsnmagic,
WAMU has been absolutely no help in letting me take control of my bank account. So i've been forced to open a new bank account at a different bank. Since WAMU has kept saying that a hard block debit is not possible and the pdl companies have continued to try to debit money out of my account and i was already overdrafted i'm left with a negative balance of ~$800. I've called them numerous times trying to get a hard hold placed on my account and i was outraged to read in a letter i received froma collection agency that "they have previously tried to contact me and resolve the issue" when I HAVE BEEN THE ONE CALLING WAMU OFF THE HOOK.
im at a loss for words and i dont even know what to do. now not only do i owe pdls now i owe the bank as well. has anyone had experience with this sort of thing??
