Do what you want as far as going back with them or not. Most people could do their own debt settlement if they want to, especially with the information available to them on boards like this one. On the other hand, you already went the debt settlement route. The glitch thing is probably b.s. I'm sure they read your posts here and reached out to you. But they are willing to keep negotiating for you and you say you already paid them their fees. If they aren't asking you for more money, where does the "ripoff" come in?
What I don't understand is why you're so upset about the settlement they got for you with Payday One. You took a $500 loan from them, paid "about $50" towards it, and didn't think you should pay $500 if they weren't licensed? You have to at least pay the principal back to an unlicensed lender.
Not that it matters. Payday One is licensed. (ThinkCash is legal too, BTW)

Well I considered the Discount Advances settlement a ripoff knowing what I know now about lenders needing a license. As for Payday One, I had already paid Payday Ok well over $1000 on a $500 loan, and I know the two companies are really the same. I hate to pay keep paying them money when I have already paid them enough to cover the principals! And I never refused to settle Payday One for $500; I simply wanted proof that they were licensed to conduct business in Louisiana, which I still never received from them.
So if you aren't happy with them don't go back with them. What'
So if you aren't happy with them don't go back with them. What's the big deal?

I suppose I had hoped that a reader might read this and share their experience with Langhorne, or someone may let me know if they were able to negotiate a reasonable settlement with Think Cash or Payday One on their own. I have been overwhelmed with debt for the last 2 years, and I feel like I am finally getting a glimpse of the light of day. I just don't want to mess anything up when I am so close!
