I live in Arkansas. I had taken an online payday loan with MTE, and due to slow work, defaulted. On advice from my bank (to stop nsf fees), I closed that account, and have not opened another one. Now, EAD Group LTD, from Columbia, So. Carolina, has taken the loan, and wants payment. They have offered to drop the past late fees, and make arrangements. They want me to use a debit card or credit card, which I have neither. When I asked to use a money order or western union, they said they will not accept payments that way. My work is still slow (I do construction), and what I take home is used to keep rent, utilities, and disabled fiances meds paid with very little left over. They gave me until Friday to give them a payment, or they will send this to their legal department. After, they said it will go to summons, magistrate, appearence, ect. I have talked to them 2 times, from messages left at our work office. Can anybody tell me if all they say will happen, being from a different state, and they are not the original loan company?

I received a phone call from the company, I don't know if they are legal. I just have to wait and see what happens.

I talked to a girl named Ashley and we set up payment arrangements for 50.00 every 2 weeks and she told me it was approved by her superiors. instead of the 50.00 payment they were supposed to withdrawal they took the whole amount out of 423.00 Anyone with bad dealings with this sompany has to call the Federal Trade commision EMAIL REMOVED.

I too have dealt with Ashley and Jared. Jared was so rude. I am calling the federal trade commision and south carolina consumer affairs also. When they took $423 out of my bank account, My bank cancelled my debit card and sent me another one with a different number. She was telling me that 9 times out of 10, they'll try to swipe your card again..

I have called the federal trades commission and also the south carolina consumer affairs and the BBB. This company has a F rating in Losuiana. I have had to close my account completely. Which cause bounced checks. I really have no faith in getting any money back but at least maybe they will be stopped. I only hope that if everyone that has been scammed will call the FTC and the South Carolina Consumer Affairs that this outfit will be shut down.

I too have dealt with Ashley and Jared. They took money from my account 2 days before my payday causing it to be over drawn. When I called they said there is nothing they can do because I gave them authorization to debit account at any time. Two days later they took remaining balance of $270. They then told me that I was paid in full and they would no longer be debiting my account. Well just yesterday they took $25 out. Now I can't reach Ashley or Jared. Any advice for me?

I have contacted the FTC also. I have closed my account and have contacted the AG's office. Jared and Ashley are two people who I have dealt with. I have also called Ken. He is to be the owner of this group. If we all contact the appropriate agencies maybe this particular group will be shut down and maybe we can get some of our money back. But in order to stop any future debiting from your account you have to close it. I had my bank even contact them and they told the bank that they have the right to charge anywhere from 405% to 1000% interest everytime they debit your account. They can actually do it 3 times a day.

Anyone who has dealt with Ashley or Jared should CANCEL YOUR ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY. My bank sent me a new check card number and deleted the one that I gave to EAD Group. Bank of America told me they are going to keep trying to debit the account. My advice is to call the federal trade commission, South Carolina Consumer Affairs, and the Better Business Bureau. I have done online complaints with all 3. It doesn't take long. The more people that complain, the better it will be.

I have just started dealing with them and they debited my account for $100 before they even sent me a collection notice. They then sent me a collection notice on a handwritten envelope and provided a false business license number. I took it to a friend of our family who is a retired lawyer and he said not to close my bank account, because if they do it again, it is only additional proof. I notified my bank of the issue and they were extremely helpful and refunded the unauthorized debit and provided a statement for me to use if I sue. So far I have contacted the AGs in my state and theirs and did the BBB complaint too. I am waiting to see if anything else happens before I make a decision to sue. I got my money back, but because they acted this way, I feel as though I want to proceed with legal action...but is it worth it?

I spoke with a person at the South Caroline Department of Consumer Affairs and she said she could not provide specifics but there have been numerous complaints about this company and they are under investigation. When I stated they had provided a false license number, she asked me to fax the letter they sent as well as a copy of the handwritten envelope. I did and she called me back the next day saying they would investigate and if I had anymore unauthorized debits to my account I was to call her immediately and fax her a copy of the transaction.

I have a feeling this is some ramshackle operation that popped up on someone's home. They are about to learn the hard way, I think.

I can believe all of these complaints about this group. I had dealings with them just tonight. I spoke with a Mr. Jaffin and he said he will only deduct $32 but instead when I go and look at my account they deducted $320, which caused my account to over draft. When I spoke with them again, the woman said they was nothing she can do and it was my problem and of course this made me upset and she told me to stop whinning like a baby and act like an adult and do I need a moment to start acting like an adult.

i had dealings with EAD Group on Feb 28th. I spoke with a Kyle McCormick. I had made arrangements to make payments on two seperate dates to take care of a loan. They then debited my acct 5 days earlier than anticipated and they kept debiting it until my balance was paid in full. this cause me to overdraft my chcking acct and take on several overdraft fees. I am filing a complaint with the BBC and Federal Trade Comissiin.

THESE " CREATURES " ARE THIEVES. THEY MADE ARRANGEMENTS WITH ME TO PAY $ 75.00 EVERY 2 WEEKS TO REPAY A LOAN. THEY SAID THEY WOULD SEND AN E-MAIL CONFIRMING THESE ARRANGEMENTS. INSTEAD THEY TOOK $ 75, $ 75, $ 75 AND $ 74 ALL ON THE SAME DAY CAUSING ME TO PAY $ 112 IN NSF FEES. WHEN I CALLED THEY SAID THEY WOULD CREDIT BACK MY ACCOUNT AND PAY THE NSF FEES AND STICK TO THEIR PROMISE. THAT WAS IN JANUARY AND STILL NO MONEY. THEN ON MARCH 17, 2009 THEY TOOK AN ADDITIONAL $ 20 FROM MY ACCOUNT. WHEN I CALLED THEY SAID IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ONLY $ 2, BUT COULD NOT GIVE ME ANY REASON FOR THE DEBIT. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GIVE THEM ANY CHECKING ACCOUNT OR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION. THEY WILL SCREW YOU AGAIN AND AGAIN.

They got me today as well. I authorize them to tak $175 out of my account using my debit card yesterday to come out on my account today. Instead they charged $300 yesterday immediatly to my account. After reading the comments here I have already called and canceled my check card so that they can not get anymore. I wish I would have read this before I agreed yesterday, as now I had other items I needed payed returned. I know I was in the wrong for getiing over my head with the payday loan people, but taking people that are obviously having problems making ends meet, and cheating them even out of even more money is ridiculous. I will be calling the FTC as well.

I had issues with this company and had to close my checking account. I was to pay the remainder of my balance which was 432.00. They had taken over 1200 out of my account and I would call and get rude comments stating that they can charge as much interest as they want.

Well after my bank called them and got the same response I was advised to cancel my account. Which I did.

However they still try to take more money out of my account. I only know that because my sister works at the banks and sees that they are trying to debit again and again. Thank god.

I did call the FTC and also the South Carolina AG's office. This company is horrible. I sent a letter to them stating that I was paid in full. I am now getting phone calls from their number and when I answer they hang up. Thank god for caller id. I am waitng for this company to get caught for their illegal practices. Ashley and Jared are the rudest people. I really dont understand how they sleep at night.

I advise everyone who has had a problem with this company to call the the FTC and the South Carolina Consumer Complaint Department.

The phone number they use is registered to Robert Espinoza. They tried to get me to give them a credit/debit number didn't happen. I can't tell you how many lies they have told me in the last 24 hours. They won't send me anything in writing saying I owe this money and that unless I pay it then they were going garnish my wages for up to $4000.

That's exactly what I thought.

I had taken a PDL out with these clowns about two years ago, and they still call. I live in NJ, and at the time, was unaware of the laws that goverened PDLs in NJ. When I found out that I was substantially overpaying MTE, I marched straight to my bank, closed my account, and opened a new one. MTE, obviously, wasn't happy about this. They started off sending e-mails. The e-mails turned into phone calls. But never once did they try to sue. They then turned the account over to EAD, who has been calling me ever since. I've told them for at least a year and a half to stop calling. They finally gave up....and now, have started e-mailing me. Most people would be upset. I think it's hysterical, how they keep pursuing, but get nowhere. Someone once said that these internet-based PDL corporations are based off-shore; is this true?

I used to work for them until I got a taste of what they were doing....I quit. I got a paycheck from them that had no stub. Which tells me that they are evading paying any taxes or FICA. Absolute crooks and criminals. Headed by Christie...who is the manager and a constant revolving door of employees in Lenexa, KS.

I had the same issue with EAD Group. I made payment arrangements of 150.00 every 2 weeks to be paid off in 4 payments. Once they received my credit / debit card information on my checking account they debited for the full amount of 603.00. I went to the bank the lady was very rude to me and my bank. Since I gave them my information with the security code I was informed it would be hard to dispute between them and my bank. They woman who had did this at EAD was fired within 30 days and found out I was not the only she had did this too. Ken Jones who shows as the Director of Operations faxed me a satisfaction letter. However it mention my original account and company this was collected for. I have since been contacted by 2 other agencies trying to collect on the same debt. Thanks to this forum I did report them to the Federal Trade Commission as well. I will be seeking legal consultation as well. Since I have started investigating this. I have found 2 different law firms along with EAD all listed with the same contact info.....something seems really fishy about them and no one will return calls or anything.
