As with most 3rd party collections, they are placed with CA's under contract. The OC agrees to pay the CA for any funds received during a specific time period of placement. A lot of contracts also specify that the OC not intervene unless there is a serious and verifiable complaint. I would suggest trying to work with the CA.
HELP!!!
My ex and I had a house. We divorced in 2003. He let the house got through foreclosure. There was a small second mtg with Chase, ( used to be Bank One) It was to have been paid in full when we took the new mortgage in 2000. Now they are calling me, I have no money & told them the house has been through foreclosure and it was done in a Sheriff's sale. I know there was paperwork from Bank one in 2000 showing paid, but since its foreclosed I have no access ot it and since I am divorced and haven't lived there in 6 years, will they just file foreclosure papers or what?
