I have 5 payday loans which have been turned over to collection agencies, 2 with Lighthouse Recovery Associates. The pdl's are: Midland/SJM and CMG, the other 3 are with National Credit Adjusters. They are: Vince/Prestige, Fox Enterprises and MMG. I can't seem to find much info on these pdl's as they were done over the internet. I am wondering what happens if they are not licensed in my state of WA and they all did charge 30% fees which are illegal in WA state. Does anyone have any help or infor for me? Thank you. I am new to this forum. I originally set up payment arrangements, but the amounts they want me to pay are outrageous, so I sent DV letters to each and am not going to make the payments. I appreciate any feedback. Thank you

hello,it seems you know these pdl's are illegal now if you could answer the following.

1)who are the pdl's?
2)how much borrowed?
3)how much paid back total.i mean debited from you account from each one.

as being these are illegal, you only owe the principle borrowed nothing more.if you could provide that info i can help further.

Thank you for the offer of help. I have sent a personal message to Paul and hope for the best. I did send DV letters to both of the collection agencies. I asked them to cancel the payment plan arrangements. National Credit Adjusters did still put the payment thru my account which of course overdrew my account. In my fear (before reading this website) I set up the arrangements with ACH payments. What a dumb move on my part. Not sure what I can do about this. The arrangements are for $105.00 at the end of each month for 8 more months. I have paid a total ot $210 to them. They are holding 3 payday loans of $200 each.

okay, now i need you to look in your bank statements and see how much has been debited and by who.these pdl's you said are illegal, then you only owe what you borrowed nothing more.i would either close your current account and open a new one or put your current account on deposits only.i'm guessing you didn't borrow what these bottomfeeder collectors are trying to get now.if you paid the principle in fees you are done with each one.i do know lighthouse is a bottomfeeder.i would file AG complaints as well as FTC complaints.

Thank you. I have put a stop payment on my account for National Credit Adjusters, so hopefully they won't be getting anymore money out of my account. I understand the explanation that I only owe what was borrowed. Do I pay thru the collection agency? I am unable to get thru to the actual pdl companies. I have filed complaints with AG and DFI in the State of WA against Lighthouse and National Credit and all of the pdl's. I just don't have much info to give them on the actual pdl's. The total borrowed was $1000 between the 5 companies. The total repaid is only $588.88, most of which was thru the collection agency.

Between the two of them, they are asking for $2184.00!!! I thank you for your assistance. I didn't realize that the AG would actually help with the amount to be paid. I am very new to making complaints and to having some help available to me. It's so good to know.

Has anyone been involved with the Oak View Law Group? They are supposed to be able to negociate with pay loan companies. I need to know if they are just a scam to get more money without really being able to help any? I don't want to be in a bigger mess than I am.
