Does anyone have a professional letter to sent to creditors that are threatening garnishment??

I am trying to get some information for my brother-in-law that has just come on some hard times. The postings are on his behalf, but I have "earmarked" this site to direct others to it.
You can probably guess my occupation by my alias "Preach".
I would still like to have a letter for him, as I saw one earlier tonight, but old hands and brains don't always work so well.

Is he wanting to propose payment arrangements? Have they already filed a lawsuit?

There are a number of letter in the DIY section here: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/letters/

I find it best just to write "from the heart." In one paragraph, explain the situation and what caused the account to fall behind, and that he never intended to reneg on the obligations. In the next paragraph, layout a repayment plan how he proposes to take care of the debt. Then ask them for their consideration.

Thank you for the information. I will send a few copies of the sample letters to him. Again, this is a wondeful site for those in credit problems. I have it bookmarked for people I deal with in my profession. Thanks again & God Bless. If the Blessings are not you "bag" please just disregard!!
