I have an old, outstanding balance of $255 from AT&T Wireless. I have had two collection agencies (allied interstate and NCO) contact me about the debt. Both agencies are showing up on my credit report with "seriously past due" collections balances. Within the next couple of weeks, I will have the money in hand to pay the bill, but which one do I pay? Also, how do I get the other account cleared on my credit report?

What is the Date Opened on the 2 accounts? Only one CA can report this at a time? Is AT&T still reporting? Do they still own the debt? Once you get the players straight and determine who is actually collecting, then I would send them a request for debt validation. If AT&T is still the owner of the account, I would attempt to make payment to them but only for full deletion of all derogatory tradelines from your reports.
