Quick Loans NY HELP!

Hi overwhelmed,

PDL's are illegal in NY. All you are responsible for is the amount you have borrowed, if you have overpaid this through the "fees", then you are done. I would speak to your bank and ask that they place a hard debit hold on your account. If they doesn't work, you will probably have to close your account and open another. Then I would send the companies a letter (you can find one on this site) advising that you are revoking your authorization to debit your account, any wage assignments you may have signed and advising that all future contact must be through email or mail. If you know how much you have overpaid, if at all, you can also ask for a refund. You may not get it, but it never hurts to try.

I would also file complaints with the BBB, FTC and NY Attorney general.

In the state of NY these loans are not legal at all, which means that the companies lent to you illegally. All you need to pay back (if you chose) is the principle borrowed. Morally ist is correct to pay back what you borrowed. Tjese companies can threaten and blow smoke , bt legally there is nothing they can do to you.
