I just got a call from a 866-915-5209 number. They left a message asking for me regarding a business matter and that I needed to call them back. I looked the number up online and saw all these terrible things about them like they will call your family members and so on. So I called back and told them not to call my work anymore and the lady on the phone started arguing saying that they've only called once, but once is enough for me. Does anyone have an info on this company?

Send them a DV letter with a limited cease & desist to only write you regarding this matter. I think most of the time they only call around when they can't find you, but there are a few who are known to call friends and family with the sole purpose of shaming you into payment.

Just keep on the ball with these guys, shoot out the DV and you should be ok.

I have recieved 4 calls today from Global ..the man is a relentless jerk who will not give up. After his last call I had to take nitro to calm my heart. This matter is not mine ,but my nephews who shares our home,,,the caller somehow got my name, probably through an address check and absolutely refused to accept the fact that I have nothing to do with my nephews financial situation and kept calling back as soon as I would hang up on him, I would like this person "Shachi"to stop and stop now, what can I do...hes very rude and uses references to federal and state laws completely out of context, making me feel like a criminal, when I have nothing to do with the matter. or its resolution.

I keep getting calls about my ex-boyfriend who I haven't spoken to in over a year and every time they call I tell them to stop calling me and supposedly I am taken off of their call list...but I keep getting calls...How do I go about getting a cease and desist and where do I send it?

A C&D just basically says "do not call, I am not the person you are asking for, I do not know that person, leave me alone or I will be forced to seek legal remedies" or something like that.

Also, file a complaint with the FTC, the FCC, and your State Attorney General.

Which collector is calling you? And just in case you don't know the name, what is the number they are calling from?

They've called 2 days in a row in the morning. The phone # comes up 1416 and "Unknown caller". Today "Marvin Key" left a message demanding my exroommate (who hasn't lived in the country for 2.5 yrs) call back about a n "personal business matter" (personal & business??).
I called back the main #. No business title answered, just answered "Roland". I asked for the name of the business, (pause) "Global Corporation" (hm, nice & vague). When I asked for a fax #, I got transfered to another person who didn't even bother giving their name, but gave me 866-568-1690.
Now I can send them a legal written statement that this person doesn't have this #& a cease/desist letter telling them if they call again they will be violating the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act as well as the Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Acts and possibly some state laws as well.

I sent them a registered letter instructing them not to call. Will see if it works.

I received several calls from these guys..
When I called back to find out what these guys wanted,
I was told that I had an old credit card bill that I never paid.
When I looked into it, it turns out that they were right (oops!).
I was able to settle my account for half the amount owing.
