Resurgent is the collecting arm of LVNV. Next time they call, cerify you're the person they are looking for, verify your address and inform them they have 5 days to send you details in writing. When you recieve the dunning letter, DV both Resurgent and LVNV.

No sense in waiting until you get details in writing. As soon as you get the details of the account over the phone, politely HANG UP. Then send a DV letter to both Resurgent and LVNV, immediately. I'll post the addresses this evening if nobody beats me to it. I'm on lunch now, and running outta time.

they haven't called back yet. the call I received they did not give me the company that they had the debt from and I wasn't home to speak with them. If they call when I am home, should I answer and talk to them or just continue to wait until they leave more information. I have 7 credit card debts, discover will be paid off in December and i am working on 2 others. So probably will not be able to pay anything else for a little while.
lvnv
I was sued by lvnv in july that couldn't vailadte the debt so the case was dismissed without prejudice. sine then i recieved a letter from the northland group saying lvnv sold it to them. (which they are the same) and just yesterday I got at letter from resugent saying lvnv sold them the debt. Yet no one has tried to call my home.
So they are just passing it around there offices. I'm waiting for their next move and I'm keeping all the letters they send me. Also after court with the dismiss without predjuice I notified the Credit burea about the case and they removed lvnv off my credit (after they investaged it) and also the card it's in regard to isn't on my credit no more also

Go ahead and take the call, if you've the stomach for it. You want to get the information as soon as possible. They are required by law to send you a dunning letter with specifics within 5 days of initial contact, but they may not do it. The law's never been real important to them. Give them maybe another day or two to call back, and take the info like I advised earlier. Don't allow yourself to be drawn into a conversation or debate. Just take the info, and politely HANG UP. Then get those DV letters out immediately. Send them out certified mail, return receipt requested.
Here are the addresses. These were both good as of March of this year.

Put the Certified number right in the letter. That will help you tie that particular letter to that signature receipt. Also, when you do the letters, I'd advise wording the reference line like this:
Via Certified Mail, #xxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx
Re: BigBank account #xxxxxxxxx-xxx-x, or any other business you may have with me
This is to cover your bases in case there's a typo in the account info somewhere along the way. It's been known to happen. You could just leave out the creditor and account info entirely and go with this:
Re: Any business you may have with me
But you'd be better off if you have the account details for the letter.
