Same problem, I have an account in Tx, and I live in NJ but I don't know if the TX account is going to be safe from the judgment either.

I don't mind paying with cash either, but where can you cash a check that's not a payroll check, I'm paid with personal checks, check cashing places near me don't cash personal checks.

Mt I am not too sure about that but someone who does know will be along shortly to answer your question.

Guest, if you are paid by personal check, you can go to any branch of the bank listed on the check to cash it. Make sure you have ID with you to cash it.

Yes. I got a judgment on my Social Security Disability and I have only a direct deposit account which I don't dare deposit anything other than the direct deposit. (and assume they get that)

(I found the junk collectors have no regs and in my case don't even have to present any evidence for an automatic judgment against social security monies)(it's automatic)

But to cash a check baffles me. It would seem any bank once you opened an account BUT how fast does the data hit the collection law offices ??

Don't even talk about junk collectors. I'm getting collector bills for alleged debts back to 25 years now.

I'm in Connecticut and every one is sent to Small Claims Court for automatic judgment.




My last problem ?? British Petroleum vs me. They made record profits last quarter. The Midland Funding collection operation paid pennies to reap equal fortunes.

If a bill is 25 years old it is WAY past the SOL they cannot sue you for that. I also thought SS was untouchable?

What do they expect to soak out of a Social Security Disability person ?? I wonder if there is a case anywhere where that person is not having a very difficult time trying to get by money wise. There is no asset limit but the percentage with extra money. Most probably have $50,000 in medical debts.


geeezzz I'm even refused at the University of Connecticut Dental School (Emergency Room) because I can't pay the bill.


o-next I guess is jail. If I don't make one of these post-court appearances they can send me to jail.

I closed all my accounts due to being stupid an giving JDB my account #. Now we pay cash or money order for everything.
Your local Walmart will cash checks not personal checks. But I'm not sure if you have a check smart in your area they will cash personal checks. They call and verify with the person that wrote you the check and call their bank to verify they have the money but they will cash it. If not take it to the bank the check is drawn from or a sister branch of that bank.
