I agree - they should not be allowed to do it. Not only for privacy of the person that they are looking for but the neighbors should not be placed in a situation like that. Who wants to have their neighbors put on the spot or even be harassed if it goes that far.

Is there a number of times they can call a neighbor? Someone I use to work with used me as a reference on an auto loan and I get calls all the time asking me if I know where he is and that they just want the car back. I have had no contact with this person for about 3 years. That is pretty much telling me he is in default and sharing his personal business with me and I let them know that and to not call me anymore.
