How do they take your income if you are an independant contractor and receive your money by individuals and not a company?

I don't know about other states, but in Illinois we have third party citations...

Debtor owes creditor money; if creditor finds out that XXXXXX owes the debtor any money, then they issue a citation against that person and the court directs that third party to pay the creditor instead of the debtor.

And it works against independent contractors who would owe the debtor any money. Also, since it is not considered wages, they can take all of it and not just 15/25%.

Again, that's Illinois. I don't know how other states work.
