I was just checking out another debt forum and they said that they are getting "no's" from every card they try to negotiate lower apr's with - anyone else seeing this? Maybe it's in preparation for the anticipated govt bail out of cc's?

I still think that if they can get some money, as oppossed to none, they will negotiate, but who knows with the economy?

I had worked with my cc's and gotten out of debt with them by negotiation.

Some would not work with me, so I called a couple of times a day, until I got someone who knew I was serious about paying them off, but couldn't. Some of them dropped the interest, some lowered it, through their hardship program, until I got it paid off. I was late with the payments, and it did hurt my credit some, but I figured it was better than not paying them off.

One cc lady told me she saw where I had requested this with them previous and they said no. I told her tht's how desperate I was to pay them off, I wanted to pay them off, but needed them to drop the interest so I could. I guess they finally got tired of me,and did it.

Good Luck..karen
