What is the average fee paid to a debt settlement company and how is it paid?

It really depends on what creditor you are dealing with and the amount owed and how late you are, and it does make a difference on when you make the offer. Why don't you list what creditors you are dealing with and people can give you some input. You can also do a search in these forums and see threads talking about the same thing.
