Well hello everyone. Seems that between my spouses medical problems and some good old fashion bad luck I find myself here looking for advice.

We're not missing payments on the CCs yet but having recently lost my job of 15 years due to this current mess we're in and my wife not able to contribute in the near future it could end up that way.

Currently my CC debt is 13k, I have been able to keep up with the payments but I have absolutely no room to breathe. One thing goes wrong and the house of cards will fall down. There is no way I can pay them off quickly, I have 2k in the bank as a cushion. Other than that I have nothing to fall back on.

Can anyone reccommend an entity of good reputation with which I can consolidate my CC debt at a preferably better rate?

Any other advice? I would appreciate it.

Two thoughts:

Fist, have you spoken to your creditors about your situation? Asked for a hardship plan? That would likely have less of a negative impact on your credit rating that consolidation.

Second, have you taken advantage of the free consultation available through our site? You can speak to a professional consultant about your issues at no charge. The toll-free number's in the right/upper corner of this page.

Best of luck to you. If you've more questions, we'll be here.

No I haven't spoken to them yet, I'm still researching my options. Not a lot of time.

Believe me, the wife and I have decided that credit in the future is not going to be a problem as we are willing to live on the street before we EVER do anything without cash again. It may be somewhat of a fantasy but we;re going to give it a try.

Can you tell me how these companies that give consolidation loans work?
