i have 5 pdl's:

fox enterprises-borrowed $250/pd $225

unitedcashloans-$400/pd 240

nationwide-$300/180

paychecktoday-$300/pd 270

kenwood services-$250/225

i have sent them c and d letters which revoked authorization and any wage assignments though i don't think i signed any. i also faxed a copy to adp which does my direct deposit.

i closed my checking account and though the bank manager assured me that they wouldn't go through, my closed account is showing negative. hopefully, she will reverse these.

since i've emailed my letters, i have gotten a few calls from numbers i don't recognize. i don't answer, i just let the machine pick up. no one's left a message yet.

have i done the right thing so far? i'm in new york, by the way.

thanks. i spoke with the manager today and she said she would reverse the charges. she said that she thought she closed it out, but probably forgot a step. anyway, she said she wanted me to fill out some fraud papers. that's got me nervous. i sent the c and d letters after i closed my account. is that going to trip me up?

so, i went into the bank and signed the papers, but they wanted to know what day i contacted the pdls. i contacted them on 11/14. the branch manager said that was probably too late and i might have to eat it. i told her i wasn't sure, but it might have been the 13th. should i stick with the 13th and take my chances?

i think because they are illegal they won't fight the bank, but i don't want to get in trouble for fraud and i can't give them all the money they wanted to take out. please help

i dont think you will get in trouble for fraud because they are not legal. they will make threats but cannot do too much.
my bank did not understand neither - they paid them after i put my account on hold! said it's not the way banks were designed to work.. ::rolls eyes - hello, it's my money!::

well, hopefully, it won't be an issue with the bank.

on the other hand, i just got two emails from i-collect saying that my loans with kenwood and fox are being sent to ais.

i live in new york state, but not new york city. does ais have the legal right to make me pay what the pdl's say i owe and not what i'm legally responsible for?

what should my next step be?

so, after sending my cease and desist letter again, this is the response i got and my response back to them:

have revoked ach authorizations for your company and have informed my bank as well. My account has been put on fraud alert.

One can infer by this email that you are planning to ignore my revocation.

This email will be forwarded to the NY Attorney General to add to my file.

Don't worry about him. If you call Zavier, he will get quite nasty with you then a supervisor will take over the call. The supervisor is pretty nice and will waive the fees and will even accept credit card payments. You can easily work out a payment that is manageable with Nationwide. If you have a complaint about Zavier Fulton, you can fax a letter to 1-866-808-7187. I do not know if Nationwide sends these frightening letters to people to get them to respond, then you'll get scared a call Zavier. Everything Zavier says it is illegal, in the meantime they will have someone on the line who comforting and at best will help you come to reasonable solution to pay your debt off. Maybe they do this to get you to pay.
