Hey, First of all I want to thank everbody for the great information I have found on here. I have a Term Business Loan (about $8,000 left), Business Credit Line (25,000), and a Business Credit Card (8,500) with Wells Fargo. I had to close my store last February do to the economy. 2 Ex-Business Partners, My Dad, and I are all gaurantors of the loans. The problem is the 2 Ex-business partners left the company a couple of years ago, and we had agreed to take them off the loans. I checked with Wells Fargo initially and they said that I was the only guarantor. However, when I closed my store and started to get a little behind on payments, they called my Ex-Business Partners up, who apparantly are still on the loans. Obviously, they were not too happy about that, however they trust me and that I'll make good on it.

Here is the problem. I really can't afford to pay Wells Fargo the minimum payments any more. They haven't been willing to give me a consolidation loan in the past because of previous late payments and the fact that I already have a term loan out with them. I haven't told them that I closed my store (even though I sell a little on ebay now to cover payments). I have heard that they will close your accounts and go straight to collections mode if they find out. I wouldn't have a problem with this, but I don't want to screw my ex-business partners or my dad's credit score up. I don't care about mine at this point.

Any suggestions on how to negotiate with them so that I don't hurt any of our personal credit scores (they can hammer my business one all they want)? I am more than willing to work out some personal repayment plan to pay off the debt, but I am going to have to do it over the long term. I have already worked out similar terms with other credit card companies

It does not show up on my personal credit report right now.

Do you know if it would be smart to negotiate with them or start to go past due so that they will finally listen?

I am just affraid they will go after my ex-business partners, then I will get sued out of my mind.

Wells fargo would not enable me to obtain any type of payment plan on the business credit card I have maintained for the last 10 years. Furthermore, they have put it into a default rate and are charging me late fees, overthelimit fees etc. What are my resources now?
