I received a call from the law office of Joe Pezzuto telling me my file has been turned over to them and I needed to pay my bill. I do have a credit card but have a terminally ill husband and do not have the money to pay at one time or I could make payments I do not want to give my bank account to anybody. Please help what should I do he could barely speak English and he called me at work. Any advice would be appreciated.

Next time they call, verify you are the debtor they are seeking, verify your mailing address and inform them that 1)you are not allowed to accept calls at your employer and 2) that they now have 5 days to send you details of the account. End the call. Do not allow then to engage in any further conversation. When they mail you the initial dunning letter, respond with a DV request. Re-iterate that calls to your employer place your employment in jeopardy and at the bottom

Should I still send a debt validation letter or try to go thru the company to see if they will work out payment plan. What should I do?
