The only way a levy can be placed on your account is if the CA had a judgement agaisnt you. Were you sued and did not respond?

apparently they filed a judgement against me. I am in NY State. I received the papers which were copies and they did not have any place that I needed to appear, although they requested an appearance. The address was incorrect on the papers and some other information was missing or incorrect on their end. Is there anyone in the forum who is versed in NY State debt collection practices? Im afraid to even go somewhere else and open a bank account so I can have my check deposited directly; as they threatened to sieze my all my assets, including my car which has no leins on it. I own the vehicle.

it looks as if I have a small leg to stand on in regards to the methods they are using to collect a debt. They also contact my cellphone repeatedly up until 9 at night, and on Sundays as well. We are talking 15 or 20 times a day.
