Please help me, I live in Indiana and have several Pay day loans out. I will list them in a moment. I did close my checking account because I was unable to pay my other bills because of them. I have one that I have asked to work with me and they left me message today telling me that they are contacting my employer and that my next paycheck would go into their account. Can they do this? I get paid next Thursday and do not want to loose my check. This company is called B-I-G. I also have tried to find what you are looking at when you go to the license site to see if these companys are licensed in Indiana. Can you help me?
1. Paycheck Today
2. 500 fast Cash
3. united Cash Advance
4. Instant cash debits
5 Big Limited
6. ameriloan

Any information will be help full. Thanks

In Indiana, Paycheck Today, 500 Fast Cash, and ameriloan are illegal to lend. But I'm not quite sure about the other 3 companies. In case of illegal pdls, you are only obliged to pay them the principal amount.

Even the licensed companies can't garnish your money until and unless they have a judgment against you wherein garnishment of wage is prescribed.

Thank you so much, after hearing that message yesterday I could not believe that they were going to be able to do that. I just have to catch up the other bills then I will start paying these off one by one. I know i owe the money, but like I said I have to catch up my other bills.
I also would like to tell everyone how great this website is. I was on the net forever last night when I finally was able to go to bed after finding this site. I will refer it to everyone. Thanks :D

One question: when you took out the loans, did you sign what's called a voluntary wage assignment? This is where you agreed that should you default on a loan, they could attach your wages. I would send a letter to your payroll department immediately, revoking any letters you may have signed.

No problem!!
All you have to do is write a letter saying the following: "I revoke the rights of any company to garnish money from my paycheck without a court order". Some online PDL's are notorious for having customers sign a document called a voluntary wage assignment, which authorizes the IPDL to do just that--and some companies do honor them!
So get this letter to your payroll dept PDQ--and make sure they get it.

I will do that and thanks, so much for your help. I would also like to thank rechard for his information, but I know that I can not do that. I am in a bankruptcy and that is not allowed. That is why I am in this trouble. I do however need more help. I while back ago I went into an Indiana store front and took out a loan that I have been paying back. I since have closed the account and not been able to pay them back. My husband at the same time went in to take one out so that I could pay off the fees and take another out. We have not been able to pay on his at all and now they have sent them both to the bank on a closed account. They will not work with us. Do you know what will happen next? Can my husband and I go to jail? Will they have to work out an agreement with us? I need help again.

Instant Cash Usa are awful. I am also trying to get a PIF from them but I don't know what will happen. I called them twice and both times their customer service almost hung up on me.
They are illegal that's for sure. I tried to find out if they are licensed but it looks like they are based in some indian reservation...
