I finally decided that, after advising dozens of others, to start trying to repair my credit. I need to go in every 30 days and challenge and check entries and also look for FCRA violations.
What is the least expensive way to do this and what will it cost. The "free" credit report sites are not free except for the first report that they allow once per year. Thanks in advance for your answers!

I also use Truecredit for $14.95. It seems to have the same information as when I look directly at reports from Experian and Equifax. The only difference are the scores ~ they don't match...but that's most likely the least of your concerns.

The cheapest is probably to do Truecredit...and then do the free credit report each year directly from all three sites. At least you'll have one hard copy of each and then can do monthly comparisons against TrueCredit. I check mine constantly.

there is one cheaper way to do it but it will only work as long as you have disputes. Get your complete copies of the three reports, and then file your disputes. The CRA has 30 days to investigate your dispute and respond. If the creditor doesnt reply to their request for verification, then they must remove the entry. Here's the thing--they are required by federal law to send you a new copy of your report after the dispute time expires. So, lets say you want to dispute four items on your report. Dispute ONE at a time. dispute one now, wait for the 30 days, get your new report, then dispute the second, wait, get your new report, etc etc etc. Like i said, it wont get you reports without disputing, but it costs you nothing to keep getting the new reports that way. and, when you go onto the CRa websites, you can typically view your report for 45 days or something like that at no extra cost once you have pulled it already the first time. At least at the end of that, you would have all the items disputed and you would get new reports free of charge each time.
