Is it wise to quit making payments in the hope of getting debt settlement?

No, it is not. If you can pay, then do so. If not, then call your credit cards, loan, car companies and ask for help. It is never wise just to stop paying.

It is different if you cant and need help, then sometimes you have no choice but not to pay. If you are in a position now where you can pay, then do so.

Agree with Lukeskywalker. The force is strong with that one.

It is not wise it HOPE for getting settlement. If you want to save money and can make the monthly payments look more for a debt management program. debt settlement is for people who are experiencing a financial hardship and maybe you are. If you are not then it would just be Risky to hope for getting debt settlement.
