I had a credit card, it was a very high intrest rate. My Credit report states written off..I have a collection company (allied) attempting to collect so my husband made a payment, But my question is do I have to pay the collection agency if it has been written off? Should I ask to have it validated? It is only $600.00 but right now that is a million.. Thanks.

A collection agency can try to collect a write off or charged off debt. You can now send a debt validation letter and ask them to validate the debt. Send this letter through CRRR.

You can also go through the following discussion for clarity: -

Collection Agency trying to collect written off debt

can a collection agency legally collect a charged off debt

Since you husband made a payment, theat may have re-started the Statutes of Limitations(SOL), if it was out of date. You can check you state laws on this.

Do a search for Allied at the top of the screen, under whre it says Live Chat, and see what others have dealt with and what they have done with this company..karen
