I called a credit card company, that my ex owes, that shows on my credit report. I was told that the credit bureau put it on there because I had the same mailing address. The credit card company has none of my information but they said that I would have to dispute it with the bureau. Is this true? Why would the credit bureau put information on there unless it was reported to them. Do I press the crdit card company to have it removed? Please advise.

Well first go ahead and dispute it with the bureaus, if the credit company does not have any of your information like they say, it will be removed. I don't get it either....the bureaus don't report stuff on their own..someone has to report it TO them and if the account is under that company then they MUST have reported. But first try disputing it that way and if they come back verified you have a few more options you can do.
