We were just burnt by Consumer Law Center, after having been paying them 350.00 per month for over a year. We received a letter saying the judge and the company was indicted and the account were in receivership. Of course, the Lawyer that is the receivership now can't help other than to tell us to get another attorney to get them money back.
What happens with our accounts at this point? And does anyone know where we can turn to "start over" with debt settlement and to keep the creditors off our backs, since they probably haven't been paid in months!

Are you referring "National Consumer Law Center" or "The Consumer Law Center"?

According to BBB, "The Consumer Law Center" has very poor reputation. BBB has given it a "F" rating.

If you had enrolled yourself with debt settlement program of The Consumer Law Center then you must have put the money in a third party trust account. So, please go through the representation agreement signed by you with the settlement company and ask them to refund the entire money in the trust account.

I think you should try to get another debt settlement company and contact your original creditors and explain them your situation. You may also try to settle your debts by yourself. The steps are written in the following page: -
Step by Step Guide for settling your debts
