Okay So I just got served a summons for some medical bills from 2005. I had state medical at the time which tells me the hospital did not bill properly. Secondly I never got a letter from the lawyer. Also, aren't collections agencies supposed to accept payment at all times and if they don't that makes the debt void? Please someone help me out. I got the papers served on Friday and only have 20 days to respond. I am totally stressing out.

i recieved a letter from a lawyer seeking payment on a medical bill, which at the time had insurance,it turns out the radiology grp didn't bill.they then decided to send me to collections.so im now stuck trying to dispute the bill.i would send them debt validation on the acct.....

Who is suing you? What attorney? If it is Faber and Brand, they are relentless and will find a way to get money. They are a debt collecting attorney who mainly works with medical bills. They have really raked people over the coals and will take you to court. I tried working something out to avoid court but they were pathetic jerks who waiting until we got to court to "work" something out. I was out fees etc...
